This was an amazing place to stay for easy walking access to Bourton! Love the historical feel of the property and there is loads of space. The main bed is quite comfortable and really big. The stairs were also easy to navigate. Do be sure to check your spam folder for communication as we couldn't find it until the last minute, luckily the host was quite gracious. Thank you for a great stay!

Excellent location , 2 minute walk to the high street, lovely house. Plenty to do in the area. Owner helpful. Easy to book .

The home was freezing cold. Had many radiators but all remotely controlled by the owner and set for 19 degrees (66 F), and Bourton was facing a bit of cold weather, late March, and owner was aware that the home was cold, but she stated that a 1600’s home can’t be heated up because it interferes with the old stone and timbers of the home. It would be a great place to stay from June through August. Great location in town. Quaint. Good amenities (other than it has a clothes washer but no clothes dryer, which is odd). Would stay there again, but only during the summer!!

We travelled from Australia to the UK for Christmas for the second time once we knew we could again stay at Middle Gable. It was as wonderful as ever - such a beautiful and unique place to stay, So very close to everything that we needed in the village and a beautiful time of the year to be in Bourton on the Water. Lovely location

The Middle Gable at Bourton on the Water is a one of a kind experience as your accomodations were built in the 1600's. The home is charming. The town is absolutely lovely.

A great stay at Middle Gable

I spent three nights at Middle Gable cottage. It is perfectly situated in Bourton-On-The-Water. There are many places to eat within just a few minutes walk. A supermarket is also just a short distance away so it was possible to stock up on milk and food to settle into the cottage for the stay. The cottage is clean and comfortable. There is a lovely living room with a television to relax in at the end of the day, plus a very nice kitchen. There is the choice of either a shower and toilet downstairs, or a bathroom upstairs. It is in a quiet area and has a very pretty garden. The cottage dates back to 1650 and has so much character. There is underfloor heating in the living room so you are warm. If you don't have a car, I would advise the nearest train station is Moreton-On-The-Marsh then pre-book a taxi to the cottage (the train station doesn't have a taxi rank). Alternatively there is a bus service you can use. I would highly recommend booking Middle Gable to anyone considering it. It is a lovely cottage and made for an ideal visit to the area.

A Perfect Cotswolds Stay

This is a special property full of Cotswold charm and history, but also with all the modern conveniences. Just a leisurely five-minute stroll from the center of the village, yet away from all the touristy crowds.

A lovely stay in Bourton

Me & some friends had a wonderful stay at Middle Gable. Cat was helpful in ensuring we got checked-in OK and the neighbours were friendly. Even with five of us, the house was spacious and charming, to fit the vibe of the lovely Cotswolds town that you're almost in the middle of. A wonderful stay & a great place that we'd recommend.

A fantastic historic house in a superb location

Middle Gable is a unique opportunity to stay in a very comfortable house which incredibly dates back to 1642. It is very well equipped, beautifully furnished and in a fantastic location in the heart of the Cotswolds. There are countless places to visit and many walks in the area. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this is one of the very best, full of character and history. We will return and have already recommended it to our friends and family.

Great weekend at Middle Gable

Fantastic property in a great location. The village is a busy place and the restaurants and pubs were really welcoming. The local people were really friendly which made for a relaxing break all round. Property owner Cate, explained everything, many thanks to her for an enjoyable stay. We had a lovely weekend and this property is highly recommended

Lovely characterful period property

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location and with parking. House splendid period property with great features and stayed cool despite 30o+ heat outside. Enjoyed long evenings sitting in the garden. Neighbours very friendly and helpful.

Highly Recommend!

If you love gardens, historic buildings, perfect location and really nice and friendly neighbours, then this is the place for you. The location is just over a block from all amenities and yet the yard is very quiet and relaxing. We had our own garden space that we could relax in.

Wonderful Trip to the Cotswolds

StayCotswold is a good organization to work with. The owner of the property, Cate, was kind and helpful. She gave us great advice about the area and informed us well on the quirks and joys of staying in her very old and beautiful home. The place was clean, spacious, quiet and lovely.

Beautiful cottage and spacious for a cottage with the high celling and large rooms. Beds really comfy and very quiet location to. Lots of nice features. Good facilities, lots of crockery etc. We have stayed once before also. Loved the location
