Everything about the hotel was brilliant. The guys down at reception were really helpful and welcoming, if we were staying in the area again I would definitely use them in future!

Great room, fantastic restaurant

Really large triple/family room, could have got another bed or two in and still had space to wonder about. Comfy bed, good bathroom, breakfast didn't start til 7.30 so had to miss that as I had an early start, however, they also have a restaurant next door, had a very tasty curry. Will be back, not very much onsite parking but plenty of free street parking out front that is free 7pm til 8 am. Will be back if i'm in the area, hopefully not such an early start so I can try the breakfast, hope it's as good as the curry.

I was visiting family, so just required a base. The hotel was ideal and I spent 3 nights/4 days in the area. I would definitely stay at the hotel again, as I regularly visit my family.

Do not stay

I registered my car on their ipad at reception, but have still received a fine for staying in the car park. Tried to contact the hotel, but have been completely ignored....

Poor check in service, rooms had a bad smell and the bathroom was so small it was difficult to move around and get into the shower.

Excellent short stay at the Charles Hotel Chatham.

The Charles Hotel is very handy for the centre of Chatham. The room and en-suite toilet were very clean. The shower is excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly. It is very near the Station. On the downside the tv had no stations and the road outside is very busy but there is secondary glazing which helped. We didn’t eat there. Overall it was excellent.

Rooms advertised is not the room you will get

The photo that was advertised was ABSOLUTLEY NOT THE SAME ROOM THAT WE HAD - IT WAS A SHOE BOX AND I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYTONE STAYING THERE PLEASE, PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO SaY !

Comfortable place to crash for one night, nothing special but you get what you pay for. Only trouble we had was there was no hot water for the entirety of our stay, so we were lucky it was hot outside so a cold shower was refreshing.

Empty reception area

The check-in and out time was too long. There’s no one fixed in the reception so you just have to keep waiting and waiting. You may have a tired day already and come up with this kind of no mans land is absolute terrible.

Everything was perfectly ok for a reasonable and good value overnight stay - the room was clean and had everything needed but the mattress was very uncomfortable indeed, needs replacing. Sadly I had a poor night's sleep due to mattress being long past its use by date. A shame because everything else was ok.
