A well titled cottage

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful cottage. It’s spacious, well equipped & the views from the windows are priceless! We enjoyed watching the cows going in & out for milking & the house martins swooping about. There are lots of walks in the local area & it is a great spot from which to explore both the Wye Valley & the Forest of Dean. Would highly recommend a visit to the local pub at Woodcroft - easy to walk there across the fields & it’s very dog friendly. We just wish we could have stayed at the cottage longer!

Best weekend stay

We often do short breaks but this is easily the best stay we have had. From the moment we arrived we was shocked just how nice this place is. From the great views to the high standards inside the property, everything was perfect. The owners of the property went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and nothing was to much trouble. A must try is the ice cream that is made on site and can be purchased just a few meters from the house. Cant wait to return to this lovely property. Thanks again to the owners for making the perfect stay.

Stunning Views

We stayed here for a weekend, group of 4 ladies. The house was immaculate, beautifully laid out and dressed. Perfect location for a nice relaxing weekend. The views are absolutely stunning.

Beautiful short stay cottage

Perfect for a short stay away. Cosy cottage for four located on a working farm with fresh milk and homemade ice cream! Cows greet you in the morning and stunning views across the estuary. Very peaceful but great location to visit surrounding area including Tintern and Cardiff, Bristol and Bath also not too far away. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Stay

My partner and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Wallhope Retreat last week. The property itself has been renovated to a very high standard, was immaculately clean and exceeded all of our expectations. The location is wonderful and the view from the garden is breathtaking. We are so happy that we found this place would not hesitate to book again.

Gorgeous short stay

Wallhope Retreat was beautiful. The property is done to very high standards and the building itself is interestingly characterful and in a fabulous position. The hot tub and the view were the cream on the cake and we very much enjoyed relaxing in the garden on the comfortable outdoor furniture whilst enjoying the view towards the bridge. Lots of walks immediately from the property or a short drive away. Hosts were very welcoming whilst respecting your privacy and we were able to relax completely. Highly recommended.

Just perfection

We couldn't have asked for more, wall to wall sunshine and peace, quiet and beautiful views - just our cup of tea! Plus the friendly helpfulness of Sarah and Paul - I, at aged 88, and my daughter just loved it. I've been to the Wye Valley several times and am convinced it has some of the loveliest scenery in the country.

Beautiful place to stay

This was a beautiful place to stay for a short break with friends. The hot-tub took a little while to get to the right temperature on the first day but was lovely to use once warm enough. The view was amazing and we loved having the cows right next to the cottage. It was lovely to be able to walk just around the corner and get fresh milk and ice-cream! The house itself was immaculately presented and had everything we needed. We couldn’t walk far in this holiday due to a friend on crutches but I imagine the walks would have been excellent from the house. All in all a great place to stay.

High standards and great views

The standard of this place is amazing. The hot tub and the large bath upstairs are so nice. The views across the fields to the river are stunning. Can't recommend this place enough. Some great local walks that don't involve getting in the car as well.

A really lovely stay

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Wallhope Retreat with our 7 year old son and our dog. It was a great location, great views and walks straight from the door. The onsite milk vending and ice-cream were amazing! The only thing that would have made it better for our circumstances were that the garden to the front had a fence but wasn't enclosed so we couldn't get our dog off her lead in it in case she ran down the steep embankment into the below field (she's a spaniel and has a total mind of her own at times!) and because she will only go for a wee on grass, it made going to the toilet late/early on a bit of a chore. This would have been resolved by adding some chicken wire to the lower part of the fence to enclose it but I appreciate that this may not bother every guest. Sadly the weather was very rainy so we didn't get to use the hot tub in the end but the views were gorgeous. Sarah was very contactable with any issues and very welcoming. Overall, just a great break away from it all.

Perfect peaceful escape

Had the best stay at Wallhope Farm. The house is beautifully decorated with everything you need. Modern, clean with very comfortable beds. The view from the garden is beautiful and you really feel like you are away from everything in the countryside even though you are still close enough to everything you need. The hot tub in the garden is the perfect way to spend the evening and the farm shop down the driveway has delicious milk and home made ice cream. We didn't want to leave and would love to return one day.

Beautiful cottage, stunning views

Really lovely place - and stunning views over the farm and fields down to the Severn Bridge. Rooms are really spacious. Everything is clean and new... great wifi signal. It's on a working farm... and I would recommend taking the farm tour with host Sarah, who was lovely and friendly. There's also a nice garden and private hot tub which was fantastic. We had a fantastic relaxing week there and really didn't want to leave!

Fantastic cottage

A brilliant find! We received a friendly welcome from the owners and the cottage is in a wonderful setting with stunning views over the Severn. The cottage was immaculately clean and the quality of the furnishings was very high, including the best mattresses we have slept on. We would happily return. Thank you!

An absolute gem

We loved our stay at Wallhope. We were greeted by a spectacular view which took in the countryside and the Prince of Wales bridge. The cottage is beautiful - lovingly furnished and very comfortable and cosy. The perfectly placed hot tub in the garden is a real x-factor. Sarah and Paul were also fantastic hosts. We were even treated to a brilliant tour of the dairy farm which our little boy loved!

Best holiday cottage ever!

We spent two nights at this fabulous holiday cottage. Every room was beautifully decorated even down to the radiators. Lovely views across the farm to the Severn bridge in the distance which is lit up at night. Fresh milk and delicious ice cream is available to purchase from the vending machines on the farm. This is by far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed at the only thing missing for us was a socket with a usb port as we forgot our phone charger plug! We will definitely be back to explore more of the Wye valley.
