Pretty! It lacks basic amenities

Room was larger than expected and beautifully decorated! The welcome basket was amazing. A few things were an annoyance, but not too bad: air conditioner leaked water which kept us awake and got my luggage wet, the hammock broke when I sat in it which was pretty painful haha, the hot water valve in the bathtub didn’t work right, and there were bugs/nats everywhere-but not much they can do about that. There is a pool but not much else to do. No shampoo or conditioner which I thought was a little odd for the price. No phone in the room (which we wanted to make local calls to make dinner reservations and golf). As well as no bath robes. Netflix was a nice bonus. We would stay again if they lowered their prices by about 40%, otherwise we will stay somewhere with more amenities. No restaurants in the immediate vicinity (spa next door does have dinner on fri/sat nights but I believe it is vegan only, or at least gluten and diary free only. It really was beautiful, and good for people looking for quiet and just laying by a pool.

Exceptional suites, location and view

Our stay was absolutely fantastic m. The welcome basket is full of tasty items from the local area, the staff are very helpful, attentative and generous and the suites are exceptional. The local area is wonderful to explore by bike, car or taxi and I highly recommend the Franschhoek wine tram! I would definitely refer any of my friends to La Bella Vita Studios and in fact already have!

Outstanding

My stay at La Bella Vita Studios was pretty much perfect, beginning with a warm personal welcome from Julia. I stayed in the Blush Suite, which was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. It is self-catering, but the generous welcome basket of artisan bread, cheeses and other goodies - plus a lovely bottle of wine - was more than enough for our lunch. Muesli, yogurt and fresh milk was supplied for breakfast, plus tea and coffee and delicious rusks. The bathroom has a huge copper bath, and a shower, and there was a generous and luxurious pamper tray of toiletries. I enjoyed the bath fizz balls! Every night a chocolate bar was placed on the pillows. The room is large and overlooks a stunning view of mountains and water. I had to drag myself away to do the sightseeing we had planned. I'd have been happy to spend the three days right there, reading one of the beautiful books which are left in the room for guests to enjoy. Several excellent restaurants are close by, including Babylonstoren. When we departed our rooms, Julia met us to say goodbye, with a slab of luxury artisan chocolate as a farewell gift. I will definitely be back, and fully recommend this lovely place to anybody looking for comfort, peace, privacy and a glorious view.
