Buenas noches en Doves Rest Cabins

Nuestra cabaña de descanso de palomas más privada y aislada. Esta increíble cabaña de piedra lleva el nombre en honor de Charles Goodnight, el legendario ganadero e inventor del carro del viejo oeste. Goodnight aprovechó el pasto, la madera y el agua disponibles cerca de esta cabaña, y en 1876 fundó lo que se convertiría en el primer rancho de Texas Panhandle: el Rancho JA en Palo Duro Canyon. Una de las mejores características de la fantástica vista desde esta cabaña es la interacción de vistas de pendientes de mesa altas y bajas sobre cómo Charles Goodnight ingresó al cañón con cientos de ganado Longhorn. This is a wonderful property! Perfect for two people. Very nicely appointed in all ways and quiet. It is convenient to Palo Duro Canyon which was our goal. The views from the back patio are beautiful and with little light pollution, the stars are amazing. We drove and brought all needed supplies with us: food, drinks, hiking gear, etc. Unless you want to drive back and forth to Canyon, TX, it helps to be a little organized and gives you more time to enjoy the area. There is also a small mercantile store as you turn on to the access road to the cabin that carries some items. Really a lovely property and highly recommend. Can't think of a single negative. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing view and seclusion

Cabin was better than described. It was perfect for my wife and I. Very clean and nicely appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Even though we weren't far from other houses, it felt like we were a thousand miles from know where. The view was nothing short of spectacular. It cannot be overstated. The proximity to the Palo duro state park wa very convenient.The only complaint I have is it's 7 hours from me.from me

Spectacular views of Palo Duro Canyon

Charming, luxurious cabin that has all the amenities one needs to enjoy a truly spectacular location. I was here to photograph the Palo Duro Canyon and the lunar eclipse, and the low light pollution allowed a breathtaking night sky to emerge. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. It was a wonderful experience!

Slice of Heaven

Our very favorite place to stay when visiting Palo Duro Canyon. You can’t beat the amazing views and proximity to the park entrance. It is always spotless and we have everything we need while there. The hot tub is a perfect way to end the day after many hours of hiking and biking. Highly recommend!

Shhhh…

I am hesitant to give this review because I selfishly I don’t want the secret to get out about the Goodnight Cabin. Quite and relaxing are the best description with unrivaled views of Palo Duro Canyon. Do yourself a favor and unwindin the rim of the cabin.

Relaxing Retreat

Everything was just as described on their listing. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary while here. The hosts were so kind, along with their wine and souvenir glasses they also brought us roses and goodies. The views were spectacular, wish we could have added pictures to this review. We look forward to returning sometime in the future to Doves Rest Cabins.

Incredible getaway property

What an amazing property. We stayed here for 4 nights and could not have asked for a better experience. The property itself is immaculate and supplied with everything you could need. It is such a short trip into the Canyon park! We hiked and biked every day and then spent some time exploring around the house area after we got back. Never a dull moment. The hot tub felt amazing each evening after getting back from a fun day down in the Canyon. We can’t wait to come back!

Relaxing getaway

This place is beautiful and has amazing views of part of the PDC. It has all the amenities including a lovely hot tub. You wake up to the sunrise right outside the window. It’s a great place to stay. We will be back!

A magical couples getaway

As the title states, this place is magical and serene. It is well kept, nicely appointed and quiet. If you are looking to get away with your significant other, I would highly recommend this cabin. We saw mule deer and goats in their natural habitat. The cabin also came with plenty of firewood and instructions to use their fireplace. We felt right at home. Thank you to the owners and staff for offering the opportunity to stay at this beautiful property. We will be back!

Unbelievably awesome

Way better than the photos! So quiet and relaxing. Less than 20 minutes from a grocery store in Canyon. Less than 5 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park entrance. The rentals are pricey but worth it. We cooked most of our meals on the gas grill provided on the back patio. Having the hot tub was perfect to prevent sore muscles from hiking.
