The welcoming was very friendly, and Adrian showed us around the resort to get us acclimated while getting all of our dinners but the last setup ahead of time. That was one of the big things we wish we could change (being able to book what you're feeling that day), but we understand some of the more popular restaurants fill up quickly. Overall, he did great throughout the trip making sure we were taken care of and booking two golf outings for myself. He would let us know his hours and the resort agenda for the day just to make it easy to see in one place. The resort, room, restaurants, and spa were all very nice. Our room always seemed to have gotten tidied up while we were out in the afternoon/dinner. The buffet was just a little blah, had what you needed, but nothing over the top. The majority of the restaurants and bars were fantastic! The entertainment was kind of hit or miss. I was really looking forward to the magic show, but it fell flat and was one of the few that people actually walked out early. The others were entertaining/interesting enough to keep us there until the end, and the hosts were so fun! Pros: Haven Riviera was great! The staff was always helpful and friendly, extremely hospitable. The rooms were clean, they did twice daily housekeeping. Rooms were very big, modern and the jacuzzi on the balcony was nice. We got a free room upgrade which was lovely. The facilities were modern, drinks were great. The beach was nice, clean and the seaweed would be cleared daily. There is plenty to do for a whole week. The evening games and shows are nice. Cons: I'd rate the food a 7/10 overall. I would have liked the buffet to be more varied and more flavourful. The Asian restaurant was 10/10 but the Italian was a let down, as not truly authentic Italian dishes / recipes. Another con is that Haven is building a new hotel next to the existing one, which caused a lot of noise from 7am until 5pm on all days, except Sundays. This was very noticeable in the area where we stayed, as well as the quiet pool. There are a lot of daily actives scheduled but we found that not all of them were running on the day or they started late. Beware that the sea is not that 'bright blue' colour that you'd expect in the area and that you can find in the Cancun Hotel zone.

The staff was all wonderful, very accommodating and friendly. The pool was freezing and numerous people complained about it every day. It was blown off, but was nowhere near the 78.8°F they advertise on the website. Most disturbing, my boyfriend left with bed bugs. He noticed a series of bites on his foot that he thought were possibly mosquitos, but ended up being bed bugs. He had them looked at when we were stateside, with the bugs that are now in his couch that he had to throw out. He thought he saw one in the elevator and I blew him off. Turns out, he was right. Really, really gross.

Amazing resort! The staff is so friendly and could not have asked for a better experience. Overall food is good. As with most all inclusive resorts, leaves much to be desired but this is not unexpected. We had a wonderful time! Strongly suggest the upgrade with your own butler! We will definitely go back!
