Canberra Short Stay

Really enjoyed our time at the Rex. The rooms have been nicely renovated and it was a quiet, comfortable stay. Hayden on the front desk was excellent and very helpful. Only challenge was the parking that could be scarce when the hotel is hosting a function or is full.

I love this property, it was close to everything however the workers weren’t very nice & not accomodating ! The security guard was not nice at all but all in all the place is worth staying at - will definitely go back there if im in Canberra

The rooms were immaculate and spacious, with exceptionally comfortable beds that made for a restful stay. In-room services were prompt and efficient, adding to the overall comfort. The breakfast spread was quite good, offering a satisfying start to the day. The location is superb—centrally positioned and highly convenient for getting around. The heated pool was a wonderful touch, and the gym facilities, while basic, were sufficient for a decent workout. The only drawback is the parking situation—if you're bringing a car, be prepared, as finding a spot can be extremely difficult and largely a matter of luck.

Both night staff and day staff were super friendly and helpful. Even the security guard was nice. Bathroom and toilet are clean and very new and modern. Bed was comfy and very spacious room. There are USB outlets on the wall sockets for charging. There are free on-site parking but very limited numbers.

A simple fix for this one smelly issue

The staff at the Rex are simply wonderful. It's my first choice for Canberra accommodation and feels like a home away from home. My only real gripe is with the overpowering deodorising scent that is pumped out in the public spaces. It's an unnecessary use of chemicals (unless it's covering something?), headache producing and not great for folk who are scent sensitive. Please, please remove it or at least, dial it right back. It was coming into my room by the end of my stay.
