Great location and good value if you want to avoid the traffic, crowds and parking stress in central Cambridge. We parked at the nearby Park & Ride (7 minute easy walk and cost us £20 for 2 nights - half the price of the hotel parking).
Bus ride into town was quick. There’s also a regular bus stop opposite the hotel.
We walked back from the city centre - about 40 minutes.
Great amenities on the hotel’s doorstep (Sainsbury’s, coffee shop, restaurants).
However, you’re also surrounded by private and student accommodation, which made for a noisy Saturday night, well into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Unbeknownst to us our room door had also not actually been locking when we pulled it shut. We realized on the morning we were leaving but the front desk staff seemed completely unconcerned and offered only a cursory apology when we mentioned this and the noise - wasn’t expecting any big gestures from Hyatt but this lack of basic customer service made us feel undervalued as guests.
However, for the reasons first mentioned, we’d recommend this location.
