I have respectfully addressed the many issues with a polite reception lady who listened to concerns and said she has adjusted bill.
However nasty x 2 staining on beige carpet, total chaos at breakfast (50 min wait for hot drinks alone) staff not appearing to be trained in any form of customer service, lack of cleanliness in bar area, long wait in empty bar does make me remember we have choices where we stay.
Lift was out of order too. Waiting on part. Hence our GF room - layout was not the best and bed being less than 2 feet from opaque bathroom glass door was not a good design in any way (could clearly see someone sitting on loo) Sink to shower door was also very tight in space (fat or pregnant - be warned it’s a v v painful squeeze)
Sliding glass door of bathroom was off runner, shower needed re-siliconing (as leaked into toilet base causing a slip hazard), a/c didn’t work (tho a fan in wardrobe), requested softer pillows on door hanger left in room - never received any so overlooked.
Finally I booked and paid extra for a late 2pm check out - was called x 2 & door visited at 11.20am to “hasten our exit” 🙈. And asked for a Bentley trip - was told to email bentley@gonvillehotel.co.uk. Did that. Now home after 3 day trip - not heard a thing from them. That part really sucked for old fella.
It was an overall very disappointing stay I’m afraid.
Shall look at other hotels also when I next book corporate staff rooms.
