A lovely characterful cottage in a beautiful position. Great for walking directly from property and exploring Lovely large garden, property itself has all the mod cons however is tired Great place to escape and feel part of nature whilst being close to lots of places to visit

Idyllic country cottage

We had a delightful stay while we were in town for a family wedding. Amazing location at the end of a beautiful country lane. We enjoyed using all aspects of the cottage, from the sun room, family meals around the table, relaxing in the sitting room and the "cosy cabin" adventure. We shall be sure to return! Thank you.

Incredibly lovely cottage

We spent four nights in the cottage as a family with three kids (aged 10 / 13 / 15). The cottage is beautifully crafted and very tastefully equipped and designed. We enjoyed our stay - one can easily explore the surroundings by car (including Bristol). Communication with the host / the agency was easy, questions were always answered very quickly. We are already planning our next stay in the cottage. :-)

Short stay

Generally a nice secluded property. A bit quirky but a nice quiet spot. The property is comfortable with all the basics. A few things were lacking though which would have made the stay better, an information booklet for example explaining where things are and how things work. We never did find a hair drier 😃

A lovely hidden retreat

The positives - The house is in a lovely little hidden woodland not far from the outskirts of Bristol. It feels quirky and quaint and the peace and tranquility is a delight. It has all the expected amenities. The owner is very responsive to questions. The wifi is excellent. The lack of phone signal was a blessing. The online materials are great. Less positive - The property feels a little run down. The guttering leaks (which isnt a problem apart from when the weather is terrible - which it was!). The security light to the annex doesn't work so it is a fumble in the dark up stairs to get there. There were bits of wood that had fallen down in the conservatory. The live TV didn't work although the Smart TV did. The pots and pans aren't great quality so it was easy to burn food. The kitchen equipment was odd (why have two cheese graters but no foil?). But we did find a couple of uncooked potatoes still in the over from the previous guest. While it promises condiments it felt like what was there was just left over from previous guests - so more ice than you can shake a stick at but no oil to cook with. There are no welcome packs so no info about how to navigate the woodland, what walks are good in the area, or what there is to see and do Overall - All in all it is a great place. For the out of season price we paid I would say it was a little high for what one gets. And there just needs a little bit of effort to make it feel more in line with what you are spending.

Cosy, great location

Lovely cosy cottage in a fantastic location. Peace and quiet yet very near to Bristol - perfect. We saw a deer in the garden too surround by the woods. Highly recommended! Thanks

A wonderful Hideaway!

My wife and I rented this place for 3 nights in January. We just wanted to get away somewhere cosy and shut out the world for a couple of days - well this was certainly the place to do it! The cottage is gloriously isolated on the edge of a small wooded valley away from anyone else but is only a brisk 10min walk away from the lovely local pub and farm shop. The garden was beautiful (even in January) and although we didn't use the conservatory (was a bit chilly in Jan) I can only imagine how much more the place comes to life in the summer complete with outdoor kissing swing, table and lawns. For us, we were there for the relax and we got that in droves. We burned logs all day for that smell, noise and cosiness and enjoyed the very comfy sofa and armchair. The TV is big and of excellent quality and we brought our own Firestick so we had access to all the viewing we have at home. The WiFi is also refreshingly fast for somewhere like this - 400Mbps up/down for anyone who needs a lot of speedy data. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. The third bedroom is detatched in a small self-contained wooden annex with huge doors that open to the outside. I'm sure it is amazing in summer but as there were only two of us we stayed in main cottage. The main shower was also of note as it was hot and powerful, one of the things my long-haired wife always comments on. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back as it was just lovely! xXx

Peaceful Cabin

We enjoyed our time in this peaceful cabin. It's exactly what we were looking for after four busy days in London. The WiFi was appreciated, as we had no cellular service to connect us to the outside world! The only negative was the high number of spiders in the annex. We understand it's in the country, and summertime, but that space should be treated for them. Overall a great stay! Would definitely stay again!

perfect city gateaway

amazing location, peacefull and quiet. great location to relax from everyday noisy city. Very easy acces, good communication with property manager. Property in very good condition, maybe only some kitchen appliances could be upgraded, but overall amazing place. we will be coming back there for sure.

Beautiful location

This is a gorgeous cottage, secluded and private set on its own garden. The cottage itself is quirky and a pleasant place to stay. I did feed back to the manager during the stay that there were some improvements needed. The kitchen cupboards were not left clean and tidy. The oven in particular needs a proper clean. Some of the furniture is tired. There was a large stain on one of the chairs in the living room. Some lights didn’t work and the lamp upstairs was broken: The conservatory is not heated so at this time of year it was not a useable space. The Christmas tree and decorations were lovely and overall we had a good week as we were able to get together in a pleasant space for Christmas.

Lovely Property!

We loved our stay at Lost Cottage. The house was super clean with a really well-stocked kitchen - plenty of cookware and plates etc. The location is great - totally secluded whilst still being close to amenities, a short drive away. Wi-fi is OK in the house, but hit and miss in the annex - to be expected in this location. We would definitely return to Lost Cottage in the future - we were only the 2nd guests to rent the house and we were greeted with a lovely handwritten note and a cake! We were sent all the instructions in good time and had no issues at all whilst we were there. Thanks for a great rental!
