When we first arrived there were open garbage bags and a dumpster overflowing of garbages in front of the property and our units window, there were many flies everywhere. The unit was extremely hot when we first arrived, only has a small window AC in the bedroom which took about 3 hours to cool the entire place down. Dont know why they didnt turn on AC before our arrival? We reached out to the host to let them know about the garbages outside and that we also discovered lots of fruit flies in the unit. They were quick to clean up the garbages however they completely ignored our concerns around the fruit flies. We had brought in a bag with some of our food and we had about 20 flies swarming around. The kitchen doesn' have a door and the bed in the living is all open so fruit flies were flying everywhere. At this point we were unhappy about the state of the unit and asked if we could cancel our 2nd night so that we can find a space that is more comfortable and free of bugs. The host refused. I contacted vrbo and at first they couldnt do anything however after sending proof of the fruit flies, vrbo agreed to reimburse us the 2nd night. We couldnt believe the host never adressed the of the fruit fly issue with us - never responded to my messages. I would definitely not recommend renting from this host. Too bad because the space is cute. It is quite small for 4, bathroom is tiny but other than the garbages and fruit flies the space was decent and somewhat clean. Very unfortunate!
