I had booked a room for 2 guests for 1 night. Upon arrival, I informed staff we had 2 extra guests. Staff member insisted repeatedly we should have 2 rooms, however I said 1 room with 2 beds (as I had booked) would be fine. He charged an additional $58 for the 2 extra guests and again tried to pressure me into getting a second room.
The room was outdated and in some disrepair. There were dead bugs on the floor and on the window sills. The room was very hot with poor air quality. I tried to turn on A/C, however it did not work. I tried to open the window, however the handle was broken.
I returned to front desk and was told there are no A/C units operational in any of the rooms as there is no power connected to any of them. This is despite the fact that the property details clearly state they have air conditioning. He sent someone to open the window, however he was unable to get it open. He then offered to move us to another room.
At this point, we had seen enough. Before booking, I ensured the property had A/C listed in its property details. This information is incorrect. Knowing it may be difficult to get a refund, we were so turned off with this place that we were willing to forfeit the money and move on. I called Avion after I left explaining everything and that the property details contain false information. Although I booked and paid through Avion rewards, I was told refund would be up to property owner. The Avion rep called property and they refused to give refund.
