Fresh New Space, Walk to Salem Harbor, Historic
Newly renovated 3rd fl apt in beautiful South Salem, close to picturesque Salem Harbor. Private unit, with its own entrance is bright and inviting. Unit is ultra clean. Enjoy the outdoors, walk 1/4 mile down a tree-line street to Forest River Park, Pioneer Village; 15-20 min walk to downtown Salem. Tour PEM museum, Dine overlooking waterfront. 27 Restaurants most with outdoor dining within 1/2 mile.
The space Apartment is totally separate and private from host/owners who live on the 1st and 2nd floors. We are there if you need anything but will respect your privacy. Pea stone path leads to private entrance. No shared common spaces--it's all yours for the duration of your stay. There are stairs that lead up to the unit's exterior door, followed by a set of stairs to the second floor hallway, then the stairs to the 3rd floor apartment--3 flights in total. Neighborhood is pleasant and safe, located on a busy street, but once inside the apartment, you will feel tranquil as house is well insulated. Kitchen is compact but mightily equipped. We have available: pots and pans, Keurig, spices, and other basics. Plus the unit is equipped with a glass top 4-burner electric range cooktop and a counter top Caphalon compact oven for roasting, broiling and baking. Other high end features include: Tuft and Needle mattresses, high thread count sheets, large walk-in shower, filtered water, Amazon Fire for 47" TV, high speed Xfinity internet. Driveway parking is available if you need it. Ample street parking on opposite side of street is also available.
Guest access Many guests like to walk downtown (15-20 min), or drive (3-5 min) or take an Uber ($5-7) once the crowds appear in the fall! We have a Dunkin Donuts, Bagel World, and a new Starbucks, within a 3-5 minute walk of our place, 1-2 min drive. New Jaho Coffee is across the street—2 min walk. Nice neighborhood in South Salem. Lots of foot traffic, University students.
Parking is available in our driveway. Two cars can fit, one behind the other if necessary. Might be difficult if they are large trucks though.
Other things to note This apartment is exceptionally clean: We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknobs We use cleaners and disinfectants We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay if you would like We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines
Note: the apartment has fit five (5) people very comfortably but some thought the convertible chair in Bedroom 1 was a twin bed. It is more akin to a small/twin futon/cot. The convertible bed is perfect for a child, smaller adult, or small teen. All bedding is included.
Our favorite feature of the apartment is the towel warmer in the bathroom and the filtered water in the kitchen. Another key feature of the apartment that scores high on the list is the Tuft and Needle queen mattresses in both bedrooms. Super comfortable!
We are located across the street from Salem State University and often have college families book our space during key events like admission tours, homecoming weekends, or graduations.
We have hosted couples for their weddings, engagements, milestone birthdays, and even bucket list visitors--we aim to make each stay special.
We are serious about your stay and are onsite to address any issues in a timely fashion.
The apartment is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a coffee maker, an ironing board, and a travel crib.

Hoping to stay again next time we're in Salem!
My teenage daughter and I found this to be an excellent home base for a week of day trips - Salem (of course!), Boston, Ipswitch and Gloucester. We had the option of driving into town or walking (about a half-hour walk through beautiful neighborhoods) for our local adventures. The kitchenette had everything we needed (although a microwave would have been convenient for late-night leftovers). We LOVED the turret room for our evenings winding down!

Lovely with Lots of Stairs
Beautiful third floor apartment with comfortable accommodations and a cozy feel. Super clean and well appointed property with lots of thought put into the guest experience. Little things like having Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash available in the shower and a pantry stocked with tea and sweeteners as well as coffee make all the difference. The walk to Essex Street in the center of town is a little over a mile so it’s close enough to things that you don’t have to drive or uber a lot if you don’t mind a nice walk. Things to note in advance of your stay - The stairs at the house are very steep. The porch stairs, stairs to the second and third floor would pose a potential problem for anyone with mobility issues or anyone whose health makes difficult to climb multiple flights of stairs back to back or carry luggage up and down stairs. The shower is beautifully built and has a rotating handle that turns it on and off which also controls the temperature. To get the water nice and hot you have to turn it well past the red dots on the dial typically associated with hot water. Not super unusual for showers that have handles/dials but tricky enough that my friend couldn’t figure out how to get the water hot for her shower the first night because she was afraid to turn the dial past the red dots. We had a good laugh about it the next morning when I showed her that it worked just fine. There are several small doors throughout the apartment. Some are locked, one opens into the at

Wonderful place!
Very nice 3rd floor 2 bedroom apartment, very well done, modern appliances. Perfect place to stay for a visit to Salem. Very clean, super accommodating hosts, which was very important, as we had about 8 inches of snow during our stay. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for anyone looking for a cute place to stay.

Lovely little apartment centrally located
Beautiful little apartment with everything you need to enjoy a short stay in Salem. Everything is very clean and we loved the architecture. Please note that people with mobility issues may have trouble with the stairs but there are sturdy railings.

Mixed Review
This property is beautiful. The owners clearly put a lot of time and thought into almost every detail. There was a huge basket of complimentary snacks, bathroom toiletries, and plenty of USB ports, which were all appreciated very much. The private outdoor seating area was also a really nice touch. The towels and linens were fantastic. The owner was responsive and provided a lot of information about Salem, which was helpful during our stay.
It pains me to take 2 stars off the overall rating, because this property is exceptional in so many ways. However, there was a dog barking in the home just beneath us. It yapped at all
hours, waking my daughters long before anyone on vacation wants to be awake, before the sun came up. The support slats under the mattress in the smaller room were either installed upside down or they are so worn that they bow toward the ground rather then up toward the mattress (think IKEA support slats) This bedroom was used by my daughter who said it was the most uncomfortable bed she’s slept on. And, it made a lot of noise. Weirdly, the bed in the larger room was one of the most comfortable beds my younger child and I have had on vacation. It was as if we stayed in 2 different homes.
Unfortunately, the primary purpose of renting on VRBO is sleep, and 2 of the 3 people in my group got very little of it. All of the bells and whistles in the world don’t make up for a poor sleep experience. Too bad, because it’s a gem otherwise.
What I liked is that the property is well-kept and exceptionally clean! It was obvious by what was provided for us that the host really did care about our comfort and enjoyment! I truly would love to stay there again someday! If I had to pick something that I didn’t particularly care for, I would have to say that the amount of stairs to get to the unit may pose issues for someone with mobility problems. They did a super job!
This apartment is tbr perfect combination of classic Salem style and clean/modern lines. It was like returning to a calming oasis each night after running around Salem and Boston with two kids and attending family events. The "tower room" of the living room was just delightful, kitchen was well-stocked and the grounds were beautiful. Thank you!

Just stayed 4 nights over new years. Easy to find, self check in, driveway parking, well stocked small kitchen. Super cute and had 2 separate bedrooms so perfect for traveling with a teen. Would definitely come back.

Hocus Pocus in Salem
I came to recon a great trip for my kids to Salem. I grew up visiting my best friends aunts house by the harbor. This was such a beautiful property across the street from Salem state. Safe, nice neighborhoods to walk through. The amenities in the loft are brand new and the living room I showed my daughter on FaceTime was so well done. Thanks for the hospitality. I can’t wait to come back many more times and with the kids this summer. Thanks !
