I went to see the stargazing show and wasn’t let down. I needed it to be dark and the skylight delivered. I’m not fond of the heat so much but it didn’t bother me much either.
Tranquil desert resort. We’ve stayed many times since it’s one of our favorites, this time in one of the bigger casitas. We have dogs and the privacy the casitas offer are great. My only complaint is the wifi is excruciatingly slow.
I am so disappointed with the service at this hotel - there was absolutely none available. Whether it was at the restaurant, at breakfast or even at check in and check out it was impossible to find anyone to help with questions and even when there were people available they were rude. For the money that we paid I expected great service and I was definitely disappointed.
My family and I had an overall great experience. We had not traveled since the pandemic began and the environment was perfect for the first time out. Not overcrowded at all, we loved that the pools were open 24 hours so we took advantage of night swimming. Staff was great and quick to respond when needed. We will definitely be back , our daughters loved it.
Great stay, the place was very clean and well kept. I loved the atmosphere and the hotel decorations. Plenty of space in the deluxe rooms and so many pools to decompress. Would love to come back
We have always loved this resort but had stayed in the casitas before.This time we tried the hotel and were so glad we did! Such a lovely spot all the way around. Our room was spectacular, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Even our pup loved his stay! The Bistro food is pricey but overall, we definitely give Del Zorro and its staff and management five big smiley faces!
Grounds were well kept. The rooms are clean and large! Love how the poolside rooms have direct access to the pool but still felt private. The pool itself was clean and warm. The fireplace in the rooms is a nice feature. You have to call to get it lit but they come right away when you call. The bathroom is spacious. Hotel staff is very polite, that includes the spa. Only complaint will be the hotel restaurant— food was not very good at all, service also needs some improvement. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again! Will just eat at Rams Hill next time to avoid Fox Bistro.
Love the Olympic size pool and warm desert breeze. The lights at night are subtle and the grounds are well kept so you can walk around in the warmth. Not sure why I got charged an extra $30 I usually avoid places that have these types of issues in their reviews because it feels like a total betrayal, theft, larceny just straight up not cool, unexplained, not itemized.
The overall layout is great - especially the free-standing casitas with private pools. Also, the star gazing area, which is kept darker than the rest of the property, is a really nice touch. I stayed in a casita. It was pretty dated on the inside. A refresh of paint, carpet and furniture / appliances would be helpful. Generally the staff was good, except for those working the restaurant at brunch on a Sunday. There were hardly any customers, and there were 3-4 servers / attendants, but I waited 10mins to be greeted at the host stand, and it took a long time to get the food. Overall, it’s a cool property - maybe just a little too pricey for what I got.
Only a little ding because when we got there the AC did not work in our room and the next day, the toilet clogged. However, both incidents were fixed 100% within an hour. Could have used more comfortable chairs on our balcony. Beautiful hotel and rooms.
The only thing was the temperature of the room - It was warm and the AC system is old and was not able to cool the room. It would also be nice to get the Golf Channel on television since there are already so many cable channels. Staff was excellent and friendly!
Relaxing time spent here at casa del Zorro. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed spending time by the pool (which we had all to ourselves.) the facilities are great and the garden room was roomy and even had a fridge. Our only complaint was that the rooms in the garden room have gaps on the sides of the blinds which takes away from the privacy. Walking along the path outside, if you happen to look into the room you would be able to see the bed, and other parts of the room. Also the bathroom where the toilet is has glass windows which are supposed to be private, but when its super dark outside and super light inside, well they arent quite as private.
Outstanding desert experience. Great value. Very warm and welcoming staff.
