Very deceiving

When I reserved the room, I specifically requested a balcony room. Upon check in, we were told that we were upgraded. The "upgraded" room was actually a terrible down grade. Basic room and the television didn't work. The hotel looks NOTHING like the photos online. Had to wait for the included breakfast which consisted of cold cereal and juice. Not at all what was advertised. Very old buildings and rooms. Very disappointed in the stay.

Didn’t love that I had to enter from the parking lot. Felt like a motel. Safety latch on door was broken. First morning I had no hot water so I couldn’t shower

The reviews were good on this property. The reality is that it is run down and dirty. The toilet in our room didn’t flush. They had to come 2x in a 2 night stay to fix it. The heat never completely warmed the room and there is no heat in the bathrooms. The tub had chips in it. The lobby has an odd smell. The staff was lovely upon checking in. Won’t stay again. Hotels in Bloomington leave a lot to be desired.

Cascades Inn served it's purpose for us. We were in town to spend time with our daughter. It was a comfortable place to sleep. My only interaction with staff was at check in, but the desk clerk was very pleasant. There was nothing extraordinary about it, but we have no real complaints about it. The only thing I didn't like was that the floor in the room was not carpeted.

The room was musky, lots of hair in the bed sheets and bathroom, really dusty around bed spindles and very outdated. However, it’s conveniently located to IU campus and quiet. I won’t stay there again.
