Charming Victorian hotel with great service!

If you want a charming Victorian hotel with great service, this is it! Family owned and run, Gothic Inn staff take you in like family. Every room is different and has it's own character. If you have trouble with stairs, stay downstairs because there is a good flight of steps to access the third floor. Third floor rooms have beautiful views of the ocean. Unless you are in the suite of apartments you will share a bathroom with others. And yes! There are no TV's in the bedrooms, but there is so much to do on Block Island, who wants to watch TV? For those who must, there a TV and 2 sofas in the breakfast room. This is a Victorian Hotel, after all! Breakfast is delicious and filling and the hotel is immaculate. No air conditioning but between the ceiling fan and ocean breeze, we were very comfortable. The hotel provides beach towels and on checkout day they kept our bags until we left for our ferry in the evening. Loved it and have already booked for next year.

The good: Great location, good breakfast. The bad: No one was there to welcome us and show us to our room, or at any time during our stay. But the Main problem was the price for the value: tiny room with no air and no private bathroom for an exorbitant Basically the price of a high-end for the quality of a youth But it’s Block Island: everything is outrageously expensive there.

I liked the fact that the price was the lowest on the internet. I disliked the fact that I never saw any one on the staff until the next morning, and I had to call a number to ask a question from someone who was obviously at some sort of social event.

Good enough!

Great location! Walking distance to everything!! The bed is old and creaky and the bedding older and stained. Appears neat and clean, but just worn. Breakfast is like a Motel 6...Needs a redo! The staff were really nice!!

I was in town for a wedding. The accommodations were perfect for my visit, just a bit loud because it is situated right in the middle of the bustle and nightlife. I was worried about the shared bathroom, but it worked out well. Breakfast was better than standard continental.

The Gothic Inn is quaint and historic. It isn't extremely fancy and that's what I love about it. It feels like a home! the staff are very nice as well, and there is free breakfast.

Very nice quaint rooms. Easy walk from ferry. Only issue was heat in room didn’t work. Plenty of blankets though. Very pricey for what was offered though.

Conveniently located, a bit worn out but clean. Having to share a bathroom wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, and a continental breakfast is provided.
