Host gave great direction to find the house and had a beautiful house in a very picturesque location. The pictures dont do the view from the house justice. We enjoyed the hottub after a long day of driving and hiking. The Adirondack chairs on the side of the hill were perfect to sit and watch the sunset. Bed in the master was very comfortable and the house was well appointed with all you need for a stay. I would definitely recommend a stay if you are ever in the area!

Beautiful view and location was great to visit Virginia Tech, hike, and be together as a family in the mornings. We wish we had more time at the house to visit the water and hike more and explore.

We had a great stay! The view of the river is stunning from both the deck and the living area; the hot tub was super fun for both kids and adults. The trains traveling along the riverside among the early fall colors were a boon. This host thought of everything, including some toys and games and all the paper supplies, etc., one could want. Our arrival felt warmly welcoming with all the information we could have wanted tucked into a tidy report cover sitting on a chest near the front door. All seven of us (four adults, two children, and a baby) were super comfortable in this cabin. We hope to go back some day, and possibly stay longer than we did this time!

We had such a fantastic time! Communication with the host was easy and quick, everything that was advertised was there, and a well stocked kitchen which made cooking, eating, and cleaning a breeze. The deck overlooking the river, mountains, and train track was a great way to end the day. It is completely enclosed, so we had piece of mind with the pup and toddler out with us. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Amazing location, with walking access to the river. The house is close enough to campus that you can easily get an uber to a game. This place was pet-friendly and had the cutest kitchen. All around great experience.

Sound of train, too rustic and uncomfortable bed

The trains passing by and lasting over 10 minutes at a time is not my idea of relaxing. Place was too rustic for my taste. There is no shower in the master bedroom but the outside shower saved the day and it is great. The foam bed was not ideal for my backache. It would be a good idea to have instruction for the thermostat. It is not the most common type.

Great weekend getaway

This was a great place to stay. Great view of the river on the great deck. The house was perfect for the family. I would definitely like to rent for another time. We will be coming down in the fall to go to Va Tech football games and will try to rent again.

Beautiful Property

This was a fantastic place to stay while we visited Virginia Tech with my teen daughter. The best part about it was the view of the river (we enjoyed the hot tub!), and our puppy enjoyed taking walks along the river. The house was just as described, very comfortable, and had everything we needed, included for our dog. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

We found the best of VRBO!!

We had an amazing time! We fell in love with the coziness and the views! The train sounds took me back to our childhood days when we would often hear those going by our house. Such a fond memory! We already have plans to return after the renovation in late spring/early summer.I lived in Montgomery County for almost 8 years while I worked in Pulaski County. It isn't a far drive from home but it sure feels like you're miles away from the demands of every day life. The cabin was very refreshing and we felt right at home. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Comfortable Cabin Stay

The property was as described and met our needs well. We stayed over the Christmas holiday, but it seems like it would be even nicer in the summer or fall. The views were beautiful. It is private. The porch, hot tub, and outdoor dining furniture make it a nice location for warmer months.

Left after two days

The owner's romantic description of a "rail line on the hill" is a bit of an understatement and was NOT in the property description when I rented the cabin. To be clear and forewarned, the “hill” is a driveway that runs parallel to the freight line tracks. The cabin sits roughly 40 yards from a very active line. This is offered as a more accurate line for the property description; “Looking for a truly authentic train-spotting experience? This cabin offers front-row seats to a 24/7 freight train show. Enjoy the soothing sounds of screeching metal and ear-splitting horns.” I rented the place for a week, and stayed just two days due to the noise being ridiculously loud. Ear plugs had no effect. It’s that loud. To those interested, the owner refused even a partial refund although being located on a rail line was not advertised in the property description that they provided to VRBO.

Cozy Getaway!

Cozy Cabin was a great getaway for a few days. The views, sound of the river, and Fall colors were just what we needed to decompress. We loved hearing the trains, eating at The Palisades, visiting our son, and seeing sights in the Blacksburg area. The deck and hot tub were where we spent most of our time. Cabin had plenty of paper supplies and most anything you need for your stay. We used some things and left some things that could be used by others. Would love to come back when we can tube and play in the river water.
