It's what you'd expect from a Hilton - a very pleasant, clean, comfortable, spacious room with a huge bed in a nice hotel. We enjoyed using the pool and spa and the buffet breakfast was the perfect start to a busy day. Blackout blinds and good sound proofing meant that we slept well. The area's quiet and nothing to get excited about, but super convenient for the NEC, which is why we stayed there. We really appreciated the view of the lake. Extras like parking and drinks in the bar are expensive, though.

Disappointing Stay – Definitely Not a “Family Room” I booked a Family Room with 1 King Bed, but there was absolutely nothing “family-sized” about it. The room was standard at best—there’s no way an average-sized family could comfortably stay there. Only two cans of water were provided, which was disappointing. The room was cold due to poorly insulated windows that let in a constant draft. I set the air con to 26°C, but it only produced a weak breeze with no heat whatsoever. A small electric heater was provided (clearly they know how cold the rooms get), but using it alongside the kettle caused a power cut. I was advised to only use one appliance at a time—unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The hotel itself is extremely busy during exhibitions, and the bar is understaffed, making it a struggle to get served. For £214 per night, this was absolutely not worth it.

The first room I was given had a moth infestation. I was quickly changed, and upgraded. The new room (like the first) had an ill-fitting window and the motorway is nearby. The hotel is tired. Breakfast was astonishingly busy with limited space and rushed staff.

Nice hotel

The room was nice and the beds were very comfy. All staff were pleasant. The only let down was that there was a big Hilton event on, so when we walked in to the foyer in our comfy travelling clothes, there were about 200 people dressed really fancy, which made us feel out of place. It would have been nice to have been pre warned and we probably would have chosen a different hotel - this event also meant that parking for 1 night cost £16.

Fantastic facilities, shame about room TV

The hotel itself is beautiful with easy access to the NEC via a private path. My only issue was that in 2025 you'd expect an actual smart TV in the room with all the apps you'd expect, especially for the price.

No organisation

Where do i start? Booked a room with a double and two singles as per hotel.com. Arrived and told to wait for room as they did not have one for us. Confirmed with two members of staff what our room was meant to be and what we had booked. Waited nearly an hour, was told to go to our room they have chosen now and they would make the adjustments when we got back from the concert. Both memebrs of staff were quite sharp with us. Arrived back, huge double bed removed and two singles in it's place, and a sofa bed? Was then told by a lady at reception they dont offer singles and the sofa bed was correct. (ROOM ORDERED WAS A DOUBLE BED AND TWO SINGLES NOT A SOFA BED) Lady then said i was liar and that they dont have single beds. Whilst two are set up in my room? I tried to explain that we have gone from a luxury king bed to a sofa, so surely that was a downgrade and i was in a worse room than i had paid for. Manager John then stepped in and sorted room. New rooms were damp and so dusty, by now it was 12am and I was done.
