It is a cool place with cat residents in a great location, but unfortunately, the hot tub was not working when I stayed. The staff did all they could to get it to work and were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed this property. It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and best of all, the heater was amazing.The staff was so nice and so was the manager. Oh Blue and Sierra were adorable. I will stay here again when I visit Big Bear.

Stay here if you love cats and aren’t allergic. They are roaming around inside halls, common areas and in and out of rooms while the maid cleans with the door open. If you are allergic to cats maybe book somewhere else.

Stayed in the family suite with two kids and a dog. Everyone enjoyed the 4 queen bunk beds and the arcade machine in the room. Room also had a fridge and a freezer and a microwave. Plenty of space in the open plan room. Bathroom was small and shower a bit leaky but it was fine. Note, no elevators so you will carry your cases/dog crate etc etc up and down stairs. Janet on the front desk was excellent, very friendly and helpful. There are two hotel cats, Sierra and Blue. There’s also a nice indoor pool and hot tub, a rare commodity in big bear. Hotel is an 8 min walk to the main downtown village and 30 second walk to the bowling alley across the road. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you!

I'm not sure why this place has 5 stars. The staff were not very helpful, and the place has a really unpleasant smell. We had to go to the store to buy fragrance candles to try and rid the bad smell. The room was very damp and cold. The heater didn't work, and when we asked, the staff said, "There should be a switch somewhere". Not the best, sorry, and not cheap.

No coffee cups or creamer in room, only 1 coffee pod even though there was a keurig. There was no view of the lake, I did see trash outside my window, the fridge froze our drinks. The front desk was unresponsive when the people in the room next to us were fighting, loud yelling and it sounded like someone was being thrown against the wall. They never responded to my texts or phone call and nobody was at the desk- we ended up having to call 911 I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

The walls are paper thin so I could hear the couple next door watching something loud - there aren’t TVs in the room so I guess they brought a laptop with them or something. The shower was original to the property and the glazing was pitted and falling apart. There were spiders and mildew around the bathroom because there isn’t a vent - just the window. Everything in the room looks nice when you stand way back at the door, but when you get up close you see it’s very surface level. The people at the front desk are nice, and the property is convenient walking distance to the village, so it wasn’t terrible, it’s just the room.

We love this place. My kid enjoyed the indoor pool & the owner’s 2 cats. The property is safe, clean, quiet & has really nice rooms. Can’t wait to come back!
