Clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly

We really enjoyed our stay - located very close to the train station (where the airport bus also stops), and old town so super convenient. Very quiet despite being close to a road. Super friendly and helpful reception (providing maps of the city, Basel card, tips for getting around the city easily and onwards travel) and a very clean and comfortable stay for a good price. I would stay here again for sure

This hotel was perfect. Great staff, exceptionally clean property and delicious breakfast. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the lobby people watching out the front windows. Highly recommend!

So easy to get to from the airport. #30 bus stopped right outside of the hotel to take us to our ridership. Staff was very friendly. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Christmas markets, dining and shopping. Wood stay there again!

The hotel staff, especially Elmira, was very helpful, professional and friendly. Her reception made me feel very welcomed. The stay was very pleasant and the hotel itself very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any frequent travellers and would definitely stay again if visiting Basel.

We had a lovely stay at the Steinenshanze that we wished to be longer. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, the location is close to both the station and the old city, the courtyard garden is a delightful oasis, our room was large, modern, clean and comfortable and the breakfast selection was delicious and abundant. And to top it off there is a welcome drink. 10/10

Very pleasant stay here…kind and helpful welcome with room orientation, lots of amenities like free tea-coffee, welcome drink, fully equipped room. Room was very small but amazingly designed to include everything you need…just wish there was a little more space for luggage but otherwise it was perfectly set up. Shower is great. Bath products smelled lovely. There are drinking water stations on every floor so bring a water bottle. Free baselcard is a great value for the museums and public transport. Only one stop away from the train station on bus 30. Walking distance to the main downtown as well and all the shopping you need. The breakfast is also one of the best I’ve had at hotels…lots of healthy veggies and even fresh berries. Beautiful garden patio out back to relax. Some construction noise from a nearby building at times but otherwise very quiet location. Thank you for a great stay!

The location was excellent. It was very convenient to both restaurants and entertainment, which were just around the corner. There is a local bus stop right in front of the hotel, and this was very convenient to the Biocentrum conference center on the nearby campus. The hotel was clean and rooms were nice. In addition, the breakfast was delicious and the outdoor courtyard lovely.

We loved the hospitality at this hotel. We were warmly greeted, and well taken care of during our two nights stay. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast amazing. The little garden outside of the breakfast area, was a delightful surprise. Would highly recommend this hotel.
