Clean and spacious room. They could use some basics in the room, though, like hooks or rods for towels in the bathroom, a bit larger fridge, another mirror (the bathroom vanity is very small and the only mirror is above it - doesn’t work well for two) and an bed that doesn’t squeak each time one person rolls over.

The view from the upper deck is spectacular. Get there for sunset! Smaller room but just perfectly adorned. Wonderul ambiance in the communal area. Great co tinental breakfast

1 star stay

We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights Hotel information stated there was no breakfast available. We were only given enough coffee packs, filters and cups for 2 days. I went to the “inn” to see if i could find some and saw a sign saying breakfast 7-10. When i asked why we were never told about breakfast or coffee being available, despite having multiple email communications with the management, they had no answer. Personally I don’t think they told the people staying in the cabins because they didn’t want us to know because I didn’t want us to use it because I didn’t wanna pay for it. Clearly, only the people in the end actually knew about it. They do not supply any toiletries and no amenities. Absolutely not worth the money and definitely not a five star stay.

The view

Well, its the view ....amazing. staying here is all about nature but if you want a restaurant be prepared to drive at least a half hour and if its a Monday or Tuesday, well you can fast. We were in the chickadee room. Its large, comfy beds and sofa. Small bathroom. The walls are thin and the people upstairs you hear every word and every footstep. The breakfast is critical as there is nothing else around. But after a couple of days of bagels and muffins you want some real hot breakfast food. Its pricey, but then the Bar Harbor area is all about freeing you from your money. You will enjoy your stay, we did.

We stayed in the Cranberry Room in the main inn, which was comfortable and spacious. The beds being across the large room from each other give a sense of individual space, ideal for friends traveling together. The bathroom with shower was small but adequate. The wrap-around deck/balcony has a great view of the water and small islands below, and we had one of the most the most spectacular sunset views we’ve ever seen during our stay. Large windows in the common area of the inn also overlook the water. The host was easily reachable when we had a problem with the code on our door keypad at self-check-in, and also texted several great suggestions for places to see, local dining, etc. Great for a vacation destination or a weekend getaway.

Our stay at Bluff House Inn was cozy and relaxing. Self-check-in was simple with clear instructions sent by message, and the cabin itself was very cute and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole place had a quiet charm that made it easy to unwind. The view was more of the woods than the ocean, but still beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was basic with prepackaged items and hard-boiled eggs, but the coffee station was wonderful—we found ourselves going back several times just for that. On the downside, the cabin had no closet or shelving, only a small bench with limited storage, which made a week-long stay with two people inconvenient since we had to live out of our luggage. The Wi-Fi router in the room had a bright blue light right above the bed that made it harder to sleep. There are also no staff members on site, so if you need anything, you have to call a third-party number for assistance. While it worked, it gave less of a sense of security knowing no one was physically around. Our room didn’t have a microwave, though one was available at the main inn. The first night, there were no utensils or cups for the ramen they sell, which was frustrating, but by the next night, it had been restocked. Overall, it was a quiet and comfortable stay with a lot of charm, but with a few adjustments to storage, on-site support, and small details, it could be even better.
