"​Disappointing experience – Facilities closed without notice ​I planned a specific "wellness retreat" weekend, choosing this hotel specifically for the indoor pool and sauna facilities to complement my trip to the Saratoga Spa State Park. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a major disappointment. ​The Main Issues: ​Lack of Communication: All wellness facilities (pool, sauna) and the on-site restaurant were closed for renovation. Neither the hotel website nor Expedia (where I booked) provided any notice of these closures. Having no access to the amenities I specifically paid for was incredibly frustrating. ​Room Quality: The room was clearly mid-renovation; the smell of fresh paint was overwhelming and "stunk" up the space. To make matters worse, the plumbing in the sink was not functioning properly. ​Location & Dining: Because the hotel restaurant was closed and a nearby dining option had relocated, we had to drive everywhere. Had I known the hotel was effectively a construction zone, I would have booked a stay in downtown Saratoga to at least enjoy the walkability. ​Verdict: ​I understand that renovations are necessary, but the complete lack of transparency regarding closed amenities is unacceptable. Between the non-functional plumbing and the strong chemical odors, this was far from the relaxing getaway I had envisioned. I cannot recommend staying here until the work is fully completed and management improves their communication with guests."
