Wonderful location! Owners were very friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful location! Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you, again.
Wow. What a lovely location! Our family of four stayed here for a night on our way out to the Isle of Skye, and we could not have been more pleased. The home is set in a beautiful glen between mountains. It is near the Glencoe visitor center, where we were able to plan out a local hike. There is a greenway trail you will pass over on the driveway that leads to the home. That greenway is a very nicely improved walking path that passes by farmland and a stream. There are also other nice walks right from the visitor center. The home was clean and cute and had everything we needed. If you are trying to find the home, the driveway is on the same side of the road as the Glencoe visitor center. Looking at the visitor center from the road, the driveway will be towards the left. There is a small grocery store a short drive away as well.
We stayed at Aonach Cottage in late June and early July of 2026. The cottage is beautiful and surrounded by mountains. The road to the cottage is about 7 minutes long and bumpy, but worth it to be in such a beautiful location.
Here are some details about the cottage. In the picture shown, the Aonach cottage rental is the right half of the building. The left half is another cottage. Inside the cottage, there are two bedrooms on the first floor. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second has twin bunk beds, and upstairs there is a loft with two twin beds. Everything inside the cottage is clean and set up well.
There is no wifi here at the cottage, and I didn't have any mobile service either because of the mountains. You can go to the owner's porch and use their wifi and on the road to the cottage our phones worked until we close to the cottage. It's just part of being in a beautiful place.
The sheep were so much fun to watch especially when they went up the mountain. We were able to visit Glencoe, Eilean Donan Castle, Urquhart Castle, Oban, and go on a Staffa tour from this location. We enjoyed the place so much and would definitely come back and recommend in the future. Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with our family.
