Let’s just start with that we had a great time and house was pleasant enough but —it had not been cleaned when we got there which ruined our first day/ evening there since cleaners didn’t leave until 8 pm. Amenities are in need of a little refreshing though. Outdoor furniture cushions plus indoor couch cover need to be cleaned and house are in dire need of pressure washing. Grill is missing a few knobs . Several of the frying pans should probably be thrown out , we made do with one big one . We all shared the one hair dryer ( we assumed there would be one in each bathroom ) so there was some running up and down with it . The washer looked new but was simply so gross with black mold that we didn’t use it . This is of course common with front loading washers but still . Trip ended with the ferry co braking my cooler , dropped some things out of a bag that hasn’t yet been located and left my friends suitcase soaked with something.

Such a beautiful home, in the perfect location. The owner was extremely responsive and communicative when we had any questions!! I agree with a past review .. a touch more wear than I expected ie: keureg broken, the golf cart non reliable , but the owner compensated for a cart rental! Overal, great house!!!! Great owner.

Winter on BHI

Wonderful stay at Writer's Way. Despite the cold winter weather, the house was fantastic for a long weekend. Everything was clean and comfortable and the included golf cart was a nice added benefit.We would definitely stay at this home again!

Great Vacation And great house

Great house, great location, comfortable furniture and beds. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If there was one note to future guests, it might be too confirm how many beach chairs are available as there were only four beach chairs while we were there which was not enough for our group. Not a big deal as many of us were fishing, but if we were there in the summer and wanting to relax on the beach, we would’ve had to figure something out. Overall, wonderful spot and excellent stay and would absolutely stay at this place again!

We always love BHI

The house is very cute and super convenient to East Beach! We had a few issues with the hot water heater, but communicated these problems with the owner and he sent a plumber out immediately, which we appreciated. The hot water heater is 47 gallons....so if you plan to bring a large group to stay at the home, be aware. Having just one cart worked out better than we thought because the house is so close to East Beach, and there are lots of bikes in the garage! The house is very cute and has great porches to enjoy!

Wonderful house in BHI

We had never stayed in this area of East Beach and loved every minute! The little community where the house is located was so great! Close to the beach, close to Shoals Club and Middle Island. The house is beautiful! Beds were comfortable! Kitchen was very well stocked. Decor is beautiful! Great upstairs porch! It had all the amenities we needed and more. One of the nicest homes we have stayed in at BHI and we have been coming for 30 years! Golf cart was very fast! Bikes were in very good condition! Lots of toys and chairs etc for the beach. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Rich for a great experience!

Overall, this is a gorgeous home in an excellent location with plenty of space, however it has a bit more wear than we expected based on the property description and price point. We experienced some cleanliness issues upon our arrival, but Rich was quick to respond offering to have housekeeping return.

Wonderful home and Responsive owner!

We have rented in BHI for many consecutive years, and this was definitely one of our favorite homes so far. There is plenty of beautiful space to spread out and get comfortable in this home. Bedrooms are large and beds are great. Bathrooms are well designed and spacious. The home is bright and beautifully decorated, and the location cannot be beat! Rich was very responsive and reliable, and we would definitely rent this home again!

Great house and location

Our family of had a great week at BHI. The house was perfectly situated for our many trips to the Shoals Club. We had plenty of room to cook and relax in the evening. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were able to stream Wimbledon as we ate our breakfast! We took full advantage of the island biking, swimming, sun bathing, golfing, and playing croquet. Perfect week!

Great Location and lovely home

Our family spent a week at BHI. The location of the house is absolutley perfect. Rich was very responsive and helpful. Our vacation was fantastic in large part due to the house being so comfortable and inviting. We will be back!

Spring break family vacation

Great house

Great house, great location. Our family of 4 stayed here with some friends and their 3 young kids (9 total) and it was perfect. Very clean house with all of the amenities. The kitchen is really well stocked, which was perfect for us as we cooked all meals in. Rich, the owner, was incredibly responsive and patient with our somewhat frequent asks. We are already plotting our next visit back in the Fall, hopefully when it’s not 38 degrees and windy! Despite the weather, we had a really great time. BHI never fails us!
