The Unending Hum of the Bathroom Extractor

Overall, the stay was good, very quiet and cozy, except for the bathroom extractor fan that wouldn’t stop running day and night. I complained at the reception desk three times, and each time I was assured that they would try to fix it as soon as possible. Each time, I was attended to by a different receptionist who seemed to know nothing about the issue, so I had to explain the details of the problem each time. I left the hotel without the issue being resolved, quite indignant about the situation, of course. Additionally, the breakfast offerings were subpar, with watery coffee, a scant selection of fruit, and the oatmeal with blueberries was notably missing the blueberries…

Hotel is old and needs to be updated. Staff not friendly. We had water from upstairs in the light fixture above our bed. Walls are paper thin- def would never stay here again.

This was one of our favorite lodging experiences on a 17-day trip to Ireland and Scotland. The hotel is a lovely historic property in a lovely town convenient to Dublin. Our rooms were clean and updated. Although the food at the hotel restaurant is quite good (better than typical, in my experience), we were particularly pleased to "discover" Dempsey's, a traditional, local pub just up the street. Do yourself a favor and spend a day (or half day) in the nearby (10 minutes drive) coastal town of Skerries. It was recommended to us by a local as a more convenient alternative to Dun Laoghaire south of Dublin. Skerries didn't disappoint. It's a wonderful town! Overall, we were extremely pleased both with the Bracken Court Hotel, and with Balbriggan and the surrounding area!

Driving through the Main Street towards the hotel and it had a lot of abandoned properties. We were quite worried about he rooms as the hotel itself looked very old and in a bad area of town. We were able to walk to the beach but the side road was closed for construction. Not a great beach anyways. Nothing to do in the area either. Room was VERY spacious and nice but no wifi signal in our room 210. Great signal in dining room and bar. Good free breakfast options. Free parking.

Food was very disappointing and it took way too long to be served,way too expensive for all that is on your plate. Room wasn't made up.Breakfast on the other hand was excellent and the waitresses first class. Bar staff were nice and friendly

We stayed here for 1 night. Check-in was very easy, staff were very friendly. Car parking was available on sight to the right of the door. The room however was dated, there were cracks in the bathroom tiling and hair was present in the bath/shower from previous guests. They did however offer a good range of amenities. The hairdryer was broken in the room and dated. The bed however was very comfy though we were woken up around 3 in the morning by a scratching noise which we originally thought was someone trying to get into the room. The noise eventually stopped but happened again around 8.30 the next morning numerous times so we thought it may be a rodent of some kind though there was no evidence of this in the room

WONDERFUL STAFF AND ROOM. RESTAURANT WAS EXCELLENT. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. NEVER MET SUCH HELPFUL OR FRIENDLY STAFF ANYWHERE BEFORE. THE HOTEL SHOULD BE IMMENSELY PROUD OF THE SERVICE THEY PROVIDE.
