Austin Apartment

This place wasn't fancy but certainly adequate for our needs and very affordable. Comfortable beds and good-sized bedrooms.

Strange neighborhood

The neighborhood is in the ghetto there was pot smoking , broken glass in the parking lot. We go there and had 3 chairs to sit on for 4 people to eat at the table only 1 remote for 3 TV 's no smoke alarms in the apartment they were all taken down , the sofa in the living room was on three legs and a cement block. The place needs to be sprayed for roaches, the security lock on the front door was off I took pictures of every and showed the maintenance man With that being said the maintenance guy came the next day to fix what he could he was great they better keep him , he was the best . But for the price you pay to stay there don't RUN somewhere else.

Very shady neighborhood

First night I was a bit scared of the neighborhood. Not the nicest part of town. Also, it reeked of pot and constantly we got smells of pot coming in, probably from next door neighbor. Electrical is pretty shot. On Sunday morning we were without hot water. Apparently, there was a faulty breaker. Property manager told us he would be able to send someone out until Monday, which is when we were checking out. Everything else was nice: amenities and furnishings, although one couch had a cinder block instead of one of the legs.

Overall very nice place

Overall very nice place. The amenities add everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The only slight issue we had was the neighborhood did not seem very safe. The location of the apartment was very good as it was close too many sites.

Neighbors

The neighborhood appears to be predominantly working class and there were a lot of men standing around on streets. Not a neighborhood to feel safe walking for two women. Coffee maker doesn’t have carafe nor a brew basket so not usable. Due to washer being in upstairs hallway, there is a strong odor of washer, think it needs a good internal cleaning with some bleach run through a cycle. The place was clean, neat and modern. Could use more varieties of pillows. The ones there were all about the same thickness and stiff.

Dirty, constant reek of weed, property owner not responding

DO NOT STAY HERE. My fiancé and I were so excited to stay here because the property looked amazing online. We got here and were immediately disappointed. The area was in a rough part of town and there was police tape surrounding a nearby gas station. The outside of the property was incredibly run down and there were tall weeds and un-cut grass surrounding it. We hoped for the best when we walked in and were immediately hit with the overwhelming smell of marijuana. This smell never left the entire time we were there (4 days). The manager at VRBO told us that this was a constant problem at this residence and that they suspect that a long-term resident of the property owner is to blame. The inside of the property was definitely not cleaned. There was hair, bottle caps, sticky floors, and dead/alive bugs all over. We had to drive to Target to buy blankets to sleep on/with because the beds were disgusting. We tried to contact the property owner (Michael Vasquez) to get this stuff fixed or to at least get an apology/explanation and he NEVER responded. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and stay some place else. You can find a much nicer place in a much better area for the same price! We will never stay at another Vrbo because of this ONE horrible stay at this property.
