This property is unbeatable in location, right on the parade (or “strand” if you speak American English), with unobstructed view of the water. However, I cannot think of a worse management team than the one I encountered in my multiple stays at this motel in recent months. The interiors of the rooms/chalets are under poor repair. Everywhere you look you see signs of neglect and apathy of Management. For examples, the curtains in the rooms are either way too long (dragging on the floor) or too short, and are wrinkled/dirty. The carpet in one of the chalets I was in had large stains all over. The baseboards near the kitchen were covered in dirt marks and grime, the closet was unusable because they put a bed against it, leaving insufficient space for the door to open correctly. Then, in the bathroom, they would have signs that say if you leave stains on their towels, they’ll charge you a fee. What kind of motels/hotels would say that to their customers? Then there was the noise issue. In one of our stays, there was a big party (like a frat party) which was playing music on loud speakers and people were shouting. We started calling the Office at around 9 pm.to ask for help to quiet the party down. Management dragged their heels until we said at about 9:40 pm that we would call the police if this were to not stop. We DO NOT recommend this motel.

The manager and staff were friendly and efficient. It had a lovely outlook , convenient close to all facilities , transport and walking promenade . The motel had a full kitchen and was very spacious . Serviced daily even on public holidays. The road was a little busy daytime and exposed to the wind . We had a ground level motel which was great except for the people upstairs making a lot of noise running about and playing loud music if it wasn’t for that I’d say an excellent place to stay .Also an easy commute to the airport by car .

Was okay!

We didn't enjoy our stay here at all. First night we got not no sleep because people down stairs were very noisy and kept been noisy after the manager even talked to them. Then later on at 4 in the morning we had to ring 111 as we had drunk people banging on our door threatening us. The place is a great spot, great service was reasonably cleaned. Very dated and needs some money put into the place.

Very small squashed dated room and decor, couldnt sit on old couch thats cushions were so old and squashed with minimal padding left in them because they were pushed right up to the little coffe table that was pushed up to the tv, loft floor creaked loudly everytime someone walks up there, stairs and rail to loft unsafe and wobbly, unclean room, bathroom and floors. Gave 1 toilet roll to last 2 days for a family of 7, took teatowels on 2nd day and didnt replace them, minimal kitchen utensils, no storage space/cupboard to put youre food in. Windows not sealed properly so whistling noise through out the room from the wind all night.

Our recent stay at the motel had its ups and downs. On the bright side, the location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from the beach with a beautiful sea breeze and view. However, there were some issues that did dampen our experience. The room had an unpleasant smell that my son couldn't tolerate. The facilities seemed very dated, like stepping back into the 80s, and could definitely use a refresh. The price was on the higher end, and we felt it didn't quite match the quality offered. The upper deck with the double bed was a bit precarious, being close to the railing, and didn't feel entirely safe to sleep on. Besides, the fixed showerhead made it tricky for kids to shower comfortably. Overall, while there were some enjoyable aspects, I wouldn't recommend this motel at its current price.

The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful with all my requests. After checking in to my unit on arrival a bit early (kindly thanks) I needed a bit of help with my bags which seemed to be no problem. Exhausted from my travels I sat on the deck and took in the view. I was 30 mtrs from the waters edge. I looked out at the people walking along the parade, the cars slowly passing and the stream of seacraft entering and exiting the channel, Waiheke ferry, Downtown City ferry, launches, sail boats and foils. What a delightful view Mt Wellington and One Tree Hill in the background. Realising I could sit there for hours I went and checked in for an additional night. The unit itself was quirky American style architecture with sharp angles and corners and likely from the 80's so a little tired now but there do appear to be newer units built on the rise behind. Water a little cold for me this early in the season so I did not venture in but the pool certainly looked inviting. Great food 2 minutes walk away with Cafes and the Chinese takeaways were not dissapointing at all. Over all very gratyeful for a wonderful three day stay and I will be back for sure!! Thank you everyone for all your help!!
