Terrible
We didn’t end up staying. Communication from the host was minimal from the beginning. The rental was listed as 2 blocks away from the beach when it was actually four blocks away. We pulled up to the rental which was a boarded up falling apart structure. We went through the gate as the host instructed to a building in the back. Once we entered we heard a ticking noise, it was the stove so I immediately messaged the host. As we were trying to shut the ticking off and check the place out, it was quite warm so I messaged again asking about the thermostat to turn the AC on. Awaiting his reply, we checked the beds out and there was a green/black substance on the mattress, also a pubic looking hair near the pillow. We opened the kitchen drawers and there was a live cockroach running around in one of them. The tub was rusty and moldy. I then received a response from the host that the stove noise can’t be shut off and stating where the thermostat was but then said that he had messaged the wrong person that my rental didn’t have a thermostat, it was preset to 69/70 and can’t be changed. I messaged the host explaining that we were not comfortable staying there and I never heard back from him. Here are some photos.
