Host met us at a local market to ensure we could find the property, which could have been a little confusing to find the first time otherwise. The house is beautiful and well-appointed. It can get a little warm if the rain kicks up the humidity on warm days, but generally opening windows creates enough airflow to feel comfortable. The location is great; the neighborhood is close to the town square/park, markets, restaurants, and medical supports. Bring your own soap for the shower because it isn’t provided. The landscaping is beautiful. The hosts offer connection to vendors. We highly recommend the massage therapist - Marcella gave us some of the best massages we ever had and at a great price!! Overall, great stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Roca Verde, Atenas

The property was great. Some of our group didn’t care for the mountainous drive to the house, but that is just Costa Rica. I loved the quiet and seclusion while still being in a safe environment. Our host was very responsive to any questions. The house was well equipped and very clean. The pool was great as well.

Dream Villa

Beautiful property and landscaping.. the villa was so clean with comfy furniture and beds. The pool was so amazing and the views so so stunning. Great location for tourists, in the middle of all attractions. One thing I will say is after a full day of Costa Rica’s hot and humid weather we would have loved for the villa to have a/c. Most tourists are not use to this weather and want to come back to a cool home. It was hard to cook in the house because it was hot and humid. Even a ductless split would help so much. Otherwise Outstanding

Great authentic Costa Rican experience

We stayed in Atenas area for 6 days - shopped local, ate local and ventured to a variety of locations and had a great time. This location was great for entertaining and barbecuing. Just make sure to rent a vehicle with climbing power - the mountain roads are steep.

Relaxing Vacation in Atenas

We had a wonderful week in Costa Rica and this was the perfect home base. Conveniently located to the San Jose airport and day trips to Jaco for fun in the sun. We loved coming back to the house in the evening for pool side happy hour and grilling for dinner. Wonderful views of the Central Valley and cool night air provided a perfect setting to cast your cares away. Piet and Yvonne were wonderful hosts and I highly recommend this property.

A great introduction to Costa Rica

The house is perfect for a family, everyone has their own bedroom and bathroom. It was amazing to get up in the morning, have a coffee and sit outside. The view is vast and you can see far and wide. My one wish was ro see a toucan which we did a few days before we left. It was in a tree in the back yard and waited for us to get the perfect picture before he flew away. We also saw geckos which make some really weird noises but they kept all the bugs out of the house. The property is quite far from town so we needed to get a taxi when we wanted to get to town. The property managers were amazing and extremely helpful. I need to work on my spanish, but google translate was helpful in a pinch. We did several tours and enjoyed them all The pool at the house was wonderful and kept us cool and refreshed. Special thanks to Piet, he was absolutely amazing throughout our stay. The chef at the house was a great way to celebrate Christmas the food was delicious. The people in Costa Rica are wonderful and the fruit is massive and fresh.

Pura Vida!

We had an absolutely amazing time celebrating my birthday here. The property was clean and inviting. The view was amazing! The property manager, Piet, was courteous and informative! We went during the rainy season, but still had a great time. Daytime was warm & we enjoyed the pool and again, the VIEW! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing stay!!

I just recently just stayed at this amazing location and it was honestly the best! The property manager walked me through all of the amenities and provided all the best contact information for an easy fun stay. The home is nestled up high providing amazing views, especially in the morning time with the sun peaking over the mountains. The taxi driver that was provided was such a good honest individual too. Even brought me out to eat before heading to the airport! =) The house is clean and safe, and no problems whatsoever. The pool made everything even better, photos dont do justice! Will for sure be staying here again!

Private Bliss

This is top on our list for vacations! The house was perfect and I would highly recommend the dinner on arrival night. Zipping was breathtaking, paired with the lunch it was a perfect day out. I would highly recommend staying here and coming back for a visit.

Gorgeous house inAtenas

For reference we stayed in Atenas Costa Rica April 14th through April 19th. The house is gorgeous, and the view from the backyard is stunning. On two separate occasions toucans came to the tree in the backyard to feed on the berries. We also had 6 head of cows/ bulls wander up one morning while we enjoyed coffee on the back porch. The late afternoons did get warm, but we just cooled off in the pool. We did not see any rain while we were there. The nights do cool down, but was still a little warm for sleeping. Driving was an experience! The roads are very narrow and congested. The hosts were very helpful planning several tours for us. We really enjoyed the coffee farm tour. We did get lost several times In the neighborhood. The roads and driveways all look the same and street signs are minimal. We had to go back to the gate house and ask for directions. They have a map of the neighborhood that we were able to take a picture of, which was extremely helpful. The people of Atenas are super friendly and gracious. Overall it was a fabulous vacation in Costa Rica!

This House Is simple Amazing. The owners are perfect, there when you need but not disturbing. We went there 4 friends, nothing is missing, Even a milk froder. The view from the marvelous pool is awsome night and day. To do central part of Costa Rica it’s the best. We rent a car it was perfect.

Amazing Villa!

We loved the layout of the home and the location and views. Wished we would have known there is no airconditioning! It got super hot, midday. Also, the roads are super narrow, steep, and winding up to the property. We wished our rental car was smaller. The hosts were awesome. The hot and cold water seem to be reversed. It would have been nice to have a recommendation of great beaches to go to. The one we found was not that great. Everything the hosts recommended was great. Maybe more fans in the house would help. I felt sorry for the massage person, it was so hot for her!
