Disappointing Stay
The property initially seemed like a wonderful, family-friendly place with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. However, our experience was unfortunately marred by numerous disappointments.The most significant issue was the non-functional central heating. All three bedrooms were freezing cold at night. Even with the lounge room's fire heater running continuously, the warmth didn't reach the bedrooms. We had to request additional heaters, receiving one the next day and another even later. This was particularly critical as we were traveling with two infants and elderly parents, for whom warmth is essential. Ultimately, only two rooms were adequately heated, forcing some of our party to sleep in the lounge area.Upon arrival, we found the bin already full, which was quite unpleasant. We checked the instructions, which incorrectly stated that bin collection was on our arrival day. After putting the bin out, it remained uncollected. A text to the host revealed the incorrect information; they eventually offered to remove some rubbish to make space.The laundry room lacked proper ventilation. When the dryer was in use, it either soaked the floor or released excessive mist into the kitchen, creating an uncomfortably humid environment throughout the area.Finally, we were surprised by a 200 bond deduction from my credit card without any prior communication. It took us some time to investigate the source of this expense, causing unnecessary concern that it might be a scam.
