We had a great weekend at the Crowne Plaza Xi'an. The staff recognized my IHG Platinum status at check-in and immediately upgraded my room, which was a great start to the stay. Everything about this hotel shows quality. The entrance, lobby, elevator, halls, etc. are in great condition and are very comfortable. My room was fantastic. I slept very well on the comfortable bed. The view from the room was nice. I had laundry sent out twice during my stay and it came back promptly and well cared for. The gym was excellently appointed, though it was too warm for my taste. The treadmill was solid and very good quality. I loved the breakfast selection of Chinese and Western food. I really cannot say enough about this hotel. My stay was exceptionally good and the staff did everything they could to make me comfortable. I would not hesitate to return nor to recommend this location to anyone staying in Xi'an!
The Crown Plaza is a good location for both business and weekend, in between the walled city and the high tech area. At first sight the rooms are quite impressive, and indeed more like mini suites, but quality just isn’t there. For instance the power outlets are wobbly, the curtains hard to operate and the breakfast buffet vast but not excellent. The thing I hate the most is that, in many Chinese hotels, the temperature in the room is too high and doesn’t get lower. It kills the experience.
In a very good location. Supreme service quality in a very fair price. Large rooms (I stayed in the room 3216) with all facilities provided for business trips. Breakfast with big variety for all tastes. Staff extremely polite. A very good choice.
The room was very nice and the amenities and the buffet breakfast were excellent. The people are good and service is nice! I have told them it was my husband’s birthday and they had prepared a cake in my room! What’s more, the house-keeping staff even made a hand-written birthday note! That’s a very nice surprise! The only little thing that didn’t make our trip a straight five-star was there was no hot water one night for shower and I didn’t know why the air con didn’t work quite well at some of the nights. All-in-all was a very good experience.
Hotel is in a fair location but probably some are better in Xian. We stayed in an Intercontinental, Renaissance, Sheraton and Marriott in other parts of China but I expected this to be the best since I am Spire Elite. Wireless didn't work in first room and they moved me right next door to an empty suite. If the suite was empty, why didn't I get it to start with. Executive Lounge not nearly up to quality of Marriott properties in China. Overall a very nice hotel but did not meet our expectations.
As an IHG member, I try to stay at Intercontinental group hotels. We purchased a complete tour that had the Crowne Plaza as the high end choice so that's where we ended. The hotel is not well located for tourists but that was not a problem since we had a driver and a guide all the time. The hotel is gorgeous and my review consists of mostly pros, and just a few cons. ProsThe CP is an absolutely beautifuil new facility. Everything works and is easy to find. Check-in went well. Because of high-occupancy, they upgraded us to a 3-room suite which while strangely configured due to the cylindrical shape of the building was quite nice. Lighting options a little hard to figure out but we managed. The swimming pool on the fifth floor is gorgeous. Almost no one there so I had a nice swim and exercise. Breakfast buffet was quite nice, large and expansive, Asian or western with almost anything you want. On Sunday morning we slept in and got to break about 9:30, 30 minutes before close. Quite a few items had run out. Coffee was very g Our guide had suggested that we eat in the mall nearby. It was a nice small mall with about 30 eating options. Just a 1/2 block from the hotel. There are only a few cons. The very nice registration clerk said she could not give us the ihg points because the tour company had reserved the room but she did give us the very fine upgrade and the coupons for the two free drinks. After dinner on Friday night, we went up to the 51st floor bar to use our coupons. They offered us a seat on two facing couches but since that was a lovely table with a skyline view available, I asked for that. I think she said that was for people who were going to order three drinks each. There was live music and a lively atmosphere but seeing that table stay empty the whole time we were there miffed us. We were allowed wine with our coupon and while the wine was good, it was a very modest pour. The next night when we bought drinks after dinner, my husband refused to go back to the 51st floor bar. We went to the lobby bar and had a margarita, a double scotch and an order of French fries for a very reasonable $20.)The locker rooms were nice but the hot tub wasn't hot and there was a dirty rag in the hallway during both days of our stay (I bet it's still there). In general, everything was nice but I didn't feel the hospitality I have felt at other fine hotels.
Myself and two boys stayed recently and it was ok but not fantastic. We found the room to be spacious and looking luxurious but it was dark and a bit smelly. We were on the 31st floor and one would think you'd have a great view but the windows were up so high and so small it wasn't great. I think its a real shame you don't have bigger windows to make the most of the view. We also couldn't find a 7/11 or local shops anywhere near by to grab a few things like milk or chips or nibbles to have in the room.
Just checked in and as per crown plaza all went smooth and quick plenty of staff willing to help, room is pleasant and clean slightly small but adequate, more English speaking staff would be nice. One thing that impressed my daughter was the robot roaming the foyer so in her eyes this hotel is best we have stayed in.
The hotel is lovely and modern. Rooms are nice and spacious and he lobby is also very nice. The bar on the 51 floor has incredible views and is the tallest spot- by far- in the visible vicinity. Definitely recommend a visit. The breakfast is also fantastic- it literally has everything. Location is also perfect- close to the centre and also next to the ring road to allow for a quick escape of the traffic when leaving for the airport. Great value for money.
This was one of the nicest hotels that we've stayed in. The room had more amenities than we expected and staff was very helpful. Breakfasts were pleasant with a nice selection of food. (Eggs to order may be a little overlooked) but generally quite good. The "Spicy Chicken Wings " served in the bar near the top of the building are the BEST ever!! Location is also okay with easy access to the old town and restaurants and shopping. We hope to return to Xian and will definitely use this hotel in the future.
