This was my first visit to China and my company booked this hotel given that it is located in a central area and the optics valley was just half an hour away. However, the traffic condition was in a mess. There was lot of construction work going on around this area which made the roads narrow and caused traffic jams.As I can't speak Chinese, it was a challenge communicating with the taxi driver to reach the hotel. However, once I reached the hotel, the staff at the reception spoke decent English and the check in process went on smoothly. The room was on the 15th floor and it was a standard room with all the basic amenities. As many have said, the bed was hard but it was good for my aching back. I read lot of complains about the wifi being slow but I found it decent. I did skype calls, whatsapp calls, attended meetings on webex and watched videos on youtube without any problem. I have read other reviews complaining about the room service being late but my experience was completely different the two times I availed the service. They said it will take 30 min but both the times they delivered the food in less than 20 minutes. The breakfast spread in the plaza cafe was good. You get both continental and oriental dishes and I must say the taste was pretty good. I tried the Chinese restaurant as well. They have an English menu and the food was awesome. Unfortunately, the Japanese restaurant was closed for renovation. I also tried the revolving restaurant on the 24th floor. The food was great but it was all veggie dishes. It was amazing to see how they served sausages and grilled items which looked exactly like meat. There are lot of options to eat in the nearby malls as well. However, the best thing will be to have someone local accompanying you otherwise communicating can be quite difficult on your own. I didn't get time to visit the gym or the sauna. The spa was closed as well. Looking at the decor all through the hotel you can very well understand that it used to be a hotel with grandeur but it looks very old and tired now. I had a very satisfying stay at the Ramada and would love to come back here again.
service you experienced is excellent the room is very nice location & amenities are perfect I liked best & least is RAMADA staff at this location i like to stay at this location every time i visit Wuhan also i stay at this hotel about 10 time, every time was better than the one before
You always feel very welcome at the hotel from the reception to the cleaning lady for the room. Jusr outside the hotel there is a huge street reconstruction taking place, and it can give some traffic problems so allow a bit longer for transport. But inside everything is as nice as alway. I can only very strongly recommend this hotel.
This was a decent option for a few day business stay. The bed was very firm but I still slept very well. The location was decent as there were quite a number of malls within walking distance. There is a lot of construction going on around the area but it is still pretty walkable. The breakfast had nice options.
The hotel is not perfect but you could have a good sleep there. In addition, the breakfast is very good! If you go to Wuhan, here might one of your choice. 早餐很棒! 若來武漢這裡是一個好的地方,早餐很棒! 若來武漢這裡是一個好的地方
Love this hotel for its location and customer service. First time staying there and I must say I am pretty satisfied. View was excellent and wifi speed is decent given it is China. Location is good as it is within walking distance to the shopping Malls. Would stay there again for next trip
Stayed at hotel for a week of work. Good location, most of the staff now speak a litle English this was a problem in the past. Recomend to a business trip
What a shame a group such as this do not see the need for their staff to learn another language. The hotel is at present opposite a building site for the next 2-3 years whilst the new Metro is constructed. The area to reach the hotel can only be described as organised chaos, So much so, that most taxi's will refuse to take you there during peak periods. Suggest you don't use the Western restaurant because the only thing Western is the décor. The food is the same every single night for the buffet and expensive. Example, a large bottle of water in your room will set you back over $8;00. Check out the most helpful guy in the building, His name is Kellog (English name) the concierge. Great help with everything & a credit to the hotel. Just a shame there are no more like him. Don't use the room phone to ask for anything unless you speak Chinese. I request help with the T.V. setting and received a second room key.
Hotel may be undergoing renovations but my room on the 21st floor and the floor in general felt new without the stale smoke smell others have noted. There is a major subway construction occurring just outside the hotel but with the ac fan wide open not bad. Lots of horn honking 6am-11pm, but hey, you are downtown so not much different from hotels in the middle of urban areas. Not my favorite but location relative to my customers make it hard to beat.
Breakfast was excellent! I gained weight during my stay. The staff was very friendly, and always wanted to help with anything. The room was kept very clean. I felt very welcome, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I highly recommend staying at the Ramada Plaza when visiting Wuhan.
