We returned and found the property just as wonderful and amazing the second time around. The lodge, the rooms, the food, the staff were amazing, the location and animals everywhere is exceptional, with a special mention to the excellent activities of horse-riding, a private property tour, picnic lunch and stargazing by the campfire. A good winter destination.
A fantastic get away. As a family with two adult children we stayed in two heritage villas and found the amenities, service, food and activities all throughly enjoyable. The staff were incredibly professional and accommodating.
From the moment you arrive you are made to feel very special. The wildlife just roaming freely is very relaxing. The comfort and quality of your villa is amazing. You can get involved do loads of walks or just simply settle back and relax which we choose to do.
Absolutely excellent food, room, services, in fact, everything is THE BEST, it is an unparalleled experience which you'll never have anywhere. Its definitely worth at least once in your lifetime. You will not find better food than here!
Quite possibly one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. If you are looking for complete indulgence then look no further. The staff, service, location, facilities and accommodation gets 10/10. It's not cheap but worth every dollar.
Lived up to and the natural beauty was beyond expectations. Curiosity and being able to drive there in only 3 hours was a factor in choosing this venue as we had time restraints and wanted to celebrate our Special Occassion. The cost is in keeping with this top level get away. Our accommodation 5 star + The peace and serenity of no motor vehicles (apart from a few safari type ones, plenty of guided tours) just quiet golf type buggies. You can get a ride in one, walk or bike ride to get about. Wild life abounds. Star gazing night life tour is a must and afternoon and stable tour is very good as well. Staff are all happy, helpful and enthusiastic about working in this beautiful place. The 2.1/2 hour trail ride on happy/quiet/relaxed horses a good activity. There were a few small 'mistakes' quickly rectified. Overall RECOMMENDED if your budget allows. Well deserving of it's up there reputation.
Excellent service by very attentive staff and a view to die for! Was upgraded to the two bedroom villa which was amazing. And that pool in our villa.....ahhh!!!!! Food was excellent too. Would love to come back one day.
We stayed here with our two children aged 6 and 2 for a short weekend getaway. This was our second trip to Wolgan Valley, the last one being 4 years ago. The location is second to none with spectacular views and scenery with many activities available for everyone. The tour guides are very informative, friendly and passionate in their field. Our children loved observing the natural wildlife roaming about the property. There are plenty of options to keep the children occupied. The tree-planting conservation activity and junior-ranges tour kept them busy and entertained. Our eldest daughter really loved her horse riding session with Meiko and the horse stables tour is a must for children. The villas are well appointed and clean. Beds were very comfortable to sleep. Pillow menus are available as well. The heated private pool in each villa is a great differentiating factor for this resort and definitely well used by our children. There is a generous sized dressing room. The bar fridge is well stocked. The food is definitely an improvement from 4 years ago (especially lunch), but still lacks the wow factor given the price and comparing with other luxury resorts in Australia. I was the unfortunate one in the family to have a bone in my salmon fillet during lunch and a large bone in the rabbit during dinner on the same day. You read other reviews about breakfast service being a problem and think it will not bother or affect you much but it really did detract from our positive experience on the last day. It was only after 30minutes of waiting that we found out that our hot breakfast order was somehow not put through the system and was "glitched out" according to Ray. Another table's order also failed to go through. (The restaurant was less than one-sixths occupied). By then, the children were late for their activity for the day. As our 2-year old needed parental supervision during her junior ranges tour, my wife didn't have time to eat and ended up having to take-away the cold breakfast in the car ride back to Sydney airport. A major major major let-down. We also had to wait 20minutes and ring Jessica from guest services twice before our luggage were collected from our villa during check out. Not helpful when you are a time-conscious freak and you have to travel 3 hours to the airport. In summary, it was an amazing holiday and we will definitely be back and highly recommend Emirates Wolgan Valley as a holiday destination.
Have stayed at many high end resorts around the globe and was excited about one in my back yard being just a 2 hour drive from home. Resort is well located in the valley and if you love open spaces and animals then this is just for you !! Rooms were very spacious and well appointed & made you instantly feel at home The only partial let down was the food. I was expecting it at this end of the market to be top notch but it did not reach any heights with creativity or taste. It was good just not memorable for a resort of this stature. Had much better food elsewhere Staff were all excellent and very attentive but the F & B did let the experience down
My family and I had the most amazing holiday here. We stayed in the 3 bedroom Wolgan Villa, which was spectacular and perfect in every way. The choice and quality of food was exceptional, and any special requests for the children's meals were never too much trouble. Very attentive staff in all restaurants. Wolgan is a very special place indeed, we had so many family adventures every day, the kids especially loved riding their bikes through the streams and waking up every morning to Kangas right outside our window, memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Wolgan.
