We stayed in one of the cozy on-site cabins nestled among the trees — such a charming and peaceful spot! The cabin had all the comforts of home, including a bathroom with shower, TV, heat & A/C, and a mini fridge. It was the perfect mix of convenience and quiet, just steps away from the main inn but tucked far enough back to feel private.

Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm but ours was delayed because the room as not ready. We were told 15 minutes but it took over 30 minutes before getting the keys to our room. This despite the fact that numerous other check in were processed in the meantime and ALL of them got their room immediately. I think it is because the booking was done through Expedia and our room being one of the worse in the facility is not given priority. We booked well ahead of the dates and paid $700 for 2 nights yet treated as 2nd class customers.

I was very pleased with the room with its beautiful view of Blomidon and the Minas Basin. My only suggestion is please provide new rubber bath mats and install secure grab bars in the tub. I asked for and received a rubber mat but it was old and did not adhere to the tub floor. The tub was high and hard for arthritic knees to step in without something to hang on it and slip-free footing. I managed to shower with one foot still on the bathroom floor and curtain around me! Not comfortable. Safety is a concern for everyone but especially for seniors. Otherwise, the room was great, the bed comfy, the food good.

The property has undergone some significant upgrades. Room was good. Dining room gorgeous. What a view! And brunch was tasty. Dining room staff were either understaffed or undertrained. Took a long time for hostess to greet/sit us. Then we were ignored. One of us got the menu from the lobby and others went to bar to get water. Lots of tables with dirty dishes and food left around the DR. Checkin was also a bit clunky. The one night stay (Fri to Sat) was pricey ($375) so I expect a higher level of service.

We stayed in a cottage, which was small but clean and had very comfortable beds. The bathroom was small and the shower was tiny. Outside there was a picnic table but the ground slope was so steep we didn’t feel it was wise to use it. The outdoor hot tubs were wonderful. There is a contradiction between the main building (which looks new and modern and has a spa) and the cottages (which are very rustic).

1. no soap or body wash in shower. 2. No mugs, glasses or creamer. 3. Floor visibly unswept & drips & sticky floor. 4. Bathtub floor extremely slippery, no grab bars or mat-unsafe. Thin walls-can hear next room on phone. Silent after 10pm not enforced. Hallway traffic loud. EXTREMELY UNDERWHELMED. Will not return or recommend.
