Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Winnipeg

It was interesting to find this Fairfield combined with a Residence Inn, but the lobby was well lit, nicely spread out, and quite modern and it’s handling – the rooms were also very similar to Springhill Suites by Marriott in their layout, but the beds are definitely comfortable and the rooms have adequate space to spread out just before any major trip or expedition – if you need to sort out your gear, that is. You could probably even fit a third person in the living area if you use the sofa, and you still won’t be too cramped – so that’s always an option for those third wheels traveling along with you. This particular Marriott is located immediately adjacent to just about any food and shopping option that you might need if you’ve forgotten something – I’ll definitely be coming back here again if I’m heading north to another location in Manitoba – it’s a perfect Airport starting point.

I travel regularly on business and have stayed at hotels around the world. I chose the Fairfield because I was told that it was recently renovated. The lobby was OK, but not gorgeous. I was treated well by the desk staff. When I went into the elevator, I noticed that a panel was scotch taped to the wall of the elevator. When I got to my room, it had a dated smell. As I got settled in the room, I pulled back the sheets to make sure there were no surprises. Unfortunately, there were surprises. I collected them on a tissue and photographed them. I left the tissue in the bathroom, packed my bags, made a reservation at another hotel and went back to the front desk. I showed the pictures to the person who checked me in and she was shocked. She said she would notify the housekeeping staff immediately asked if I wanted a room in the newer portion or at a new sister hotel. I told her that I had already made a reservation at the Courtyard at the Airport, which was great. She replied that my money would be refunded. I have no complaints about the way that I was treated by the woman at the desk. The hotel needs to be refreshed.

This is the second time we have stopped here driving across Canada. It is a convenient stop in Winnipeg. Easy to get to, close to downtown if you want to go there. It is clean and updated with good service - all at a reasonable price including breakfast.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we drove through Winnipeg. we had an upgraded room that cost only $107/night. good breakfast, free parking and free internet. only 10-15 minutes to downtown Winnipeg so a good option for tourists who do not want to stay at the pricier hotels downtown.

Hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. Took a long time (almost 30 minutes) from calling the hotel for the airport shuttle for the driver to arrive to pick me up. The signage to get to elevators is lacking a bit. There were many fresh breakfast options, even mini waffles. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for a decent business trip stay in Winnipeg.

This hotel is convenent to the airport with free shuttle service and a good breakfast while at the same time being close to shopping and dining. The room looked brand new and new looking appliances. No issues whaysoever.

I stayed at this lovely hotel this week and my rollator lost a knob off one handle. No fault of the hotel. I asked Graham at the FD if maintenance possibly had a nut for the bolt. He didn't have the right size but brought a whole new nut and bolt to fix it. Now that is supreme customer service. Right on par with NASA who can fix anything. And parents , this hotel has a water slide pool. The kids will be happy. Come and enjoy!

The hotel has been under Reno for a while - but the staff and management do everything they can to make your stay very pleasant. Very clean with a great breakfast area. Thanks again to the manager Cathy - she was great !

I thought this hotel is convenient for shopping, restaurants and airport. However, they have no park and fly option which is inconvenient for travelers. The hotel room and bathroom was clean, and it had a very comfortable bed. When I first checked in, I was not informed of the breakfast times or any amenities to the property. However, at second check in, the reception explained the amenities to me with no problem. The parking is not very good as I had to park near the Ellice Avenue entrance which is far from the main doors.

We were really disappointed in our stay last evening. From the time we checked in, it was obvious there was not enough staff as lines were long at the front desk (and that never improved). Our room was pretty clean, but not as clean as I would expect. We had difficultly signing on to the WiFi because they had to manually put us into their system. Then we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant as we have two small kids and figured it would be easier than going out. We went to dinner at 5pm (when they opened) and they had no Cabernet, only one bottle of hard cider, no lettuce to make salads, and had to give the kids their drinks in full-sized adult glass cups with no lids. To top it off, the front desk had never taken a credit card for incidentals, so when they went to charge dinner to my room they couldn't--but we didn't know this until 10:30pm when they called our room! Woke up me, my husband, and one of our kiddos. I was not impressed.
