Nice and clean room. Hotel is located on Harvard ave and it is very near to ll amenities and offices. New owners are good people and they are taking care of this property. I was there in Winter therefore outside pool was closed. Over all very good experience.
We stayed here because it looked so nice online. We arrived In the room and there was dried pee all over the toilet seat, blood stains on the comforters and it looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed or dusted in about 6 months. Needless to say shoes were worn at all times when walking around this dump of a room. When we told the front desk about this twice no one came to clean it. We had to go across the way to Tim Hortons to use the washroom. Thank goodness we had brought our own sheets or I would NOT have stayed in this dive!! When I spoke to manager upon check out, his response was just 'oh really' as if I was lying-not sure if it really was the manager as this was a man in a dirty t shirt and sweat pants with messy hair in his very early 20's. When he was finally convinced I wasn't lying he said 'oh well sorry then'. Will never return. Don't waste your money! We stayed in room 51.
The location is great. It is right on the main street and walking distance to a major mall and a lot of restaurants. 5 mins cab ride to the casino, downtown area and the waterfront. 10 mins ride to the bridge and tunnel to Detroit city. Room needed aesthetic improvements but it was clean. All amenities were available as any other hotel room. This is more then enough for the price I was charged.
Even though I did not pay a lot for this room, I still expected better than this. The first issue I had was the lack of toilet paper in the washroom. The second was the very thin pillows and uncomfortable bed. Then the shower doors did not close and in fact almost fell on me when I did try to close them. Staff was not very friendly, it was like we intruding on them when trying to book the room.
AVOID THIS MOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE. Opened our mini fridge to find a half eaten slice of pizza on a plate among other things left behind by the last guest who stayed there. Room was not dusted, vacuumed or aired out for probably weeks. The second hand furniture with gaps between the drawers so large I could fit my foot through them was a surprise. Cobwebs were in every corner of the room and the smell in the room was beyond bad. Within 10 minutes we were checked in and checked out. Honestly, I would expect poor conditions from a motel but I wasn't expecting NOTHING to be cleaned at all. Don't cheap out on a good nights sleep, spend the extra $10-15 for a hotel room and stay somewhere that won't give you nightmares or possibly bed bugs. This place should be condemned.
Ok so we pull up and it looks ok. An outdoor pool. Whatever. Your average motel. But then it begins. The woman at the front desk was unpleasant and rude. Talking down to my wife and I the entire time. The entire grounds looks like it was abandoned for a decade. The rooms are the oldest, dirtiest rooms we have ever encountered and we stay in cheap motels alot. Needless to say, we stayed one night and got out of there. There is a much nicer place that is only $10 more 2 blocks away.
We stayed for one week and it was the most terrible week of my life! Upon arrival into the room I found a condom wrapper on the floor and the mattress was caved in the middle. Hair all over the floors and when I called to switch rooms they said I had to do it in the first five minutes of getting into the room! The staff is very nosy and they do not clean the pool daily! I also called for fresh towels and they gave me a hard time about that! They do not know what hygiene is and I'm surprised they are in business! Please do not stay there !!! Very dirty place !!
Excellent wifi, restaurant on premises, clean, quiet, numerous fast food and other restaurants nearby plus a shopping center less than a mile away. Was recommended by Windsor Tourist folk as an economical place to stay and their recommendation was a good one.
The following items were wrong in my room: TV Sound was garbled when turned down No Ceiling Lights in Main Room Deformed Lamp Shade (Melted) on Wall No Pens or Paper Pads No Coffee Maker No Iron or Irioning Board No Directions to Ice Cube Machine in room Main Dresser had water damaged (warped) drawers Sink Hot water tap was not properly installed (continues to run water when totally truned off) Bathroom room all splintered (needs sanding or replacing) No Bathroom Tub Plug No Bathroom Vent (window only) No hangers on Clothes Hanging Rack No Clothes Hook in Bathroom No Kleenex in Bathroom Dispenser (empty box only)
We stayed here last year and I gave it a good review. This time, I wasn't impressed. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful but that's as good as it gets. The pool isn't heated so it was too cold to swim in even on a warm August day! The washroom had hair on the floor and in the shower. There were crumbs on the edges of the boxspring and the floor didn't look vacuumed. The air conditioning was noisy and the wall around it was crumbling. Outside light came in through the cracks. The lighting in the room was very poor. It made the room seem dreary. The bed wasn't very comfortable and we did not get a very good sleep. On a more positive note: the room had a microwave and fridge and there is a Tim Horton's across the street. It is also close to the Devonshire Mall which is a great place to shop. If you are looking for a cheap motel and are staying one night and you aren't very picky, then it is okay but I wouldn't recommend it to family and friends.
