Was really nice. Would definitely stay agin. We had a snow storm and the road up the mountain was not as bad as it was made out to be. Had no problems at all

Beware!!! You must have off road capabilities if you stay here. The roads are muddy gravel, one lane roads that are very steep. Rented cabin for 3 nights. The first morning there was a light rain and I was unable to get to the cabin due to the muddy roads. I have a newer front wheel drive SUV and it was unable to get through the mud. I had to abandon my stay and hike up the mountain 3 times to retrieve my stuff. They do not give refunds so I had forfeit the fee for the rest of my trip and pay to stay elsewhere the other two nights.

Read the Fine Print

The road to get to the cabin in not well marked. GPS will not work. They do suggest SUV.. I wouldn’t suggest it.. it’s a necessity. Not just SUV but all wheel drive, our friends have FW drive Arcadia and had trouble getting up.. would not want to come up it at night.. check in information states that and spot on.. The main cabin was spacious and nicely appointed however the other “cabins” were trailers with a log facade. For the most part they were clean but outdated. One person full shower not likely forget two showers. Again, read the fine print.. it does state that…there was a spider issue… wolf spiders predominantly. My husband who owned a pest control company was uncomfortable in the bedroom as that’s where they were concentrated…read the fine print “your in the woods” to be expected… the first day we got there neither AC in bedroom or main living area worked. The AC in living area sporadically turned on. I emailed and called the management co as it was a weekend and I received an email asking if “ I plugged the AC in”. Luckily it cooled off the next couple days do we just dealt with it. Could not open the windows as there were no screens. We thought being that high we would have amazing view of the smokies… actually was very limited by trees.. Bryson city was a cute town to visit and we enjoyed the casino as well but again needed to be home by dark because of the road situation.. this was not cheap by any means and over priced for the accommodations..

Get away

Enjoyed stay nice little clean place only flaw... no kinda view in front, was very hard renting communication bad slow response, need to spray place for spiders other than that I would stay again.

Quaint, little cabin

Our stay was very nice. The drive up was a little worrisome but the instructions to the location were detailed and accurate. The interior was clean and spacious enough for the two of us.

Mountain retreat

Overall fantastic no complaints other then the outdoor spiders lol but you’re in the woods so gotta expect it. Very nice cabin well furnished with dishes and appliances. Very very quiet and peaceful the whole 12 days I was there.

Bear Cabin #615

The cabin is nice with cute, nice sized porch, flower arrangements and fire pit. Kitchen was well stocked. Surrounded by forest, really quiet. Great for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. The road was much steeper than the description sounds. I had all wheel drive, but I'd avoid driving up this in the rain or snow and it was still scary going up at night in complete darkness. There was a strange vibe at the property with the first thing I see pulling in being a sign that says " you're on camera", signs inside the cabin about avoiding using more than the "appropriate" amount of toilet paper, and threats of fines for various things. Not a very warm and welcoming tone. The communication booking online and emails ahead of time was a little challenging and confusing as well. Maybe because the company is out of country and owner isn't local, I'm not sure. Angela, the groundskeeper, stopped by and was very nice. Overall a good stay, but could be better with a few of these improvements.
