Fernhaven Escape is a charming bush cabin tucked away among native trees, offering tranquil views across beautiful Mercury Bay and a true sense of seclusion.
Ideal for a couple’s retreat, the cabin features a comfortable queen bed, a cosy couch, and a flatscreen TV, with a heat pump to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer. The compact kitchenette is well set up for simple, relaxed meals, with an induction hot plate, air fryer, small fridge, kettle, and toaster. A small dining table sits perfectly by the window, making a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast while listening to birdsong and taking in the bush and bay outlook.
The bathroom includes a shower and toilet. The cabin operates on a biolitic septic system, so only the eco-friendly products supplied are to be used, helping preserve the natural environment.
Step out onto the deck and slow right down. A table and chairs provide the perfect place to sit back with a coffee, surrounded by native bush and visiting birdlife. Fire up the BBQ for a laid-back evening meal, then settle in with a glass of wine as darkness falls and the stars come out—free from city lights and everyday distractions.

Whitianga is a popular holiday destination located on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is the gateway to some amazing beaches and scenery. Wandering the shops is a good start and if you get a bit peckish head to one of many delightful eateries whether it's a pie and donut, or a sit-down lunch with a cold beverage. There are plenty of options. There is plenty to do for the kids as well with mini golf, movies, an awesome skatepark and kids' playground, and of course, there is the Mercury Bay Museum. For adults, a trip to the Lost Springs Thermal Spa and Hot Pools is a great way to spend a couple of hours relaxing in tropical surroundings. If you make your way to the wharf you can catch the passenger ferry to Ferry Landing & take a walk over to Front Beach. Tour boats also leave from the wharf which can show you around the area and stop close to Cathedral Cove within the Marine Reserve, watch the fish, go for a snorkel, or take a cave tour. If fishing is your idea of a good time, there are plenty of Charters that can take you out. Or you could take a drive out to Hahei. From here you can take the 40-minute walk to world-renowned Cathedral Cove, or you can head to the beach where there is a water taxi that can take you. Hot Water Beach is not to be missed. At low tide dig a hole and you will have your own hot pool! Spades can be hired from the local store.
