We stayed here for 4 nights and found this to be very clean, and close to many things in the area. They allow pets for a fee and have a kitchen and wifi...so it helped when we didn't feel like leaving for dinner to grab something easy and stay in. This didn't have trailer parking which after this trip I am seeing is important but they were very accommodating until we could figure out what to do with our trailer. I would highly suggest staying here if you need a longer stay. No Pool or breakfast but they do have free Landry which to me was more important for our stay.
Probably the worst stay I've ever had at a Candlewood Suites. They charged the same as other hotels without providing all the amenities (I.e.) breakfast and pool. Beds were really bad for my back, hotel was noisy, one of the other guests had two small dogs that barked most of the night, and parking is very limited and not conducive to trailer parking. I would not recommend any military stay here during PCS, it's not the best option in the area. What's good...Rooms are ok with most having adequate space. We stayed in a double queen with our two kids and it was sufficient for our needs. The rooms were clean with no unusual smells. However, the pantry did not have anything we wanted and was under stocked. Bring your own food/snacks/drinks.
I was down at Mount Vernon for a Revolutionary War event and our unit was booked at the Candlewood Suites Alexandria for the weekend. Some of the advance party had reservations and arrived fairly early (1:30 Pm) and we were given our rooms immediately. Just one problem. My A/C in my room did not seem to be working. It was making a horrendous noise. I went down to the desk and they immediately switched my room. I had a queen bed and the room was spacious. Nice furniture, including a really comfortable lounge chair and the kitchen area was well appointed with everything you needed if you ate in your room and some. The bathroom was also roomy, but I would have liked a few more shampoo and soaps. One tiny portion was not enough. But the rooms were quiet, the bed was comfortable and the price we got was exceptional for the area.
Trenton Bourgeois was the best staff of any hotel i had ever met! It was clean, comfy, homey, the only bad thong was tht there was a broken handle to a drawer bt tht was the biggest con, which as you can see was not small at all. Bt all around this hotel was absolutely amazing. Thank you for making our stay 10/10!
Booked this hotel on points, and was not disappointed. Very nice room, large with kitchen facilities. No restaurant on site, but many are close by. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking, which is nice in the Washington area. Very close to Mount Vernon, and the Amtrak Auto-Train station in Lorton.
This hotel is very clean and I received very warm smiles, the hotel had a scent of pure relaxation. When I signed in the gentleman(Christian Hawks) was that all my needs had been met and Mr. Hawks made sure my room was perfect. Close to Ft. Belvoir and nice eatery's around the area as well.
We stayed for one night and it was better than expected with the kitchen. It gave us ideas for longer stays. Pro: very clean very comfortable, especially for a longer stay roomy with kitchen, desks, lounger chair, refrigerator Seemed nicely setup for longer stays. Nice furniture. Staff seemed very friendly Great view of a bald eagle from the parking lot. Very nice pantry for those quick items w/o going out. Very quiet, except for refrigerator. Great temperature control It just felt good and comfortable. Cons: Shower curtain not long enough & flooded floor Not the most attractive styling inside View to west has burned-out hotel, not too bad. Did not have breakfast included, but kitchen was helpful as we packed our own breakfast noisy refrigerator. Quirky left turn from parking lot (go to next door hotel & turn left.) Parking a bit weird, but ok Route 1 construction, but ok in front of hotel.
Front desk staff rude, unresponsive and ill prepared. One young lady in particular made it very evident that guests were an unwelcome inconvenience. She took what could have been a pleasant stay and turned it unpleasant very quickly.
My family came for a weekend getaway to D.C. We wanted to stay a little bit away from all the hustle and bustle and decided to stay at the Candlewood. I spoke with Menar upon arrival and she was amazing. She upgraded us to a suite because there were 5 of us... That was awesome! Our room was very nice and perfect for our needs. When we left Frederick the manager was personable and thanked us for our stay and my service. I would 100% stay here again. Thanks Candlewood in Alexandria!
We are a military family who moved to Fort Belvoir and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks while we waited for our home to become available. For us, the price of the suite offered at this hotel combined with the location made staying here the logical choice. Having said that, the hotel staff was what really made this stay memorable. There was no need that went unfulfilled or any request not granted, even requests that any other hotel would deny for inconvenience. Our room offered a full-sized refrigerator, stove top, separate bedroom while the hotel boasts free laundry facilities, gym and so on. They even have a check out system where you can obtain anything from exercise gear to board games. Bottom line, this hotel as a building is not unlike many hotels you have stayed at. It is a place to lay your head and offers all the amenities to increase your comfort. How the staff takes care of you is what makes this place unique and special. I will not stay anywhere else in the future and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone.
