Enjoy Park Lake - Villarrica4.5 out of 5.0

If you think that the majority of hotels in the city of Pucon are quite old (Gran Hotel Pucon, and icon but very very old without good maintenance) this hotel is a great alternative. However, before booking you need to know that this hotel is away from Pucon city around 13-15 kms. So you either pay a private cab (around 30-40 US$ round trip) or use the hotel transfer that will cost you about 3-4 US$ round trip is a good option. If this is not an issue, the hotel is a great option. Rooms are very nice and they have and spectacular view of the lake. Breakfast is good and you also get to see the lake. It has an indoor pool and very basic gym - which do the trick for you to run and lift some weight. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. I stayed in room 417 a nice suite with great views that I did enjoy. The only thing that I did not like it all was the annoying noise coming from the floor above that ended up being the restaurant. Unfortunately, there was no other available room for me to move so I had to keep it. Other than this inconvenient, the hotel is a great option. I´m definitely going back but not to room 417
Well positioned in the middle between the cities of Villarica and Pucon. The hotel is the best in this area, with a great lake's view. Furnished with Spa, gym and a lot of facilities for the travellers. Breakfast and meal are really ok. All the rooms are big and lake view. From Park Lake you can organize plenty trips to several places. The best is to Climb Pucon's Volcan and visit Termas Geometricas or Huilo Huilo park.
I am surprised that a country with such great ingredients can' pull off a good breakfast or have a nice inroom menu. This hotel is a good deal, but when you figure you have to drive into town to do anything, be prepared to add $40 USD a day for a round trip. But did I mention the view? I mean WOW! Amazing! The hotels is town look to be a bit run down and old. So you have to take the good with the bad. In hind sight, if I was back here, I would look for a similar location and pay a bit more for a nicer amenities. I think the management just don't know what they are doing.
The hotel is situated in a wonderful vantage point to enjoy panoramic views of Lake Villarica. We had beautiful fall weather to enjoy the warm sun off our balcony overlooking the lake. The rooms were very well designed and the furnishings were comfortable. Our teenage sons loved the buffet and dinners were also surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. We had very good service from the staff. The hotel bar on the main level overlooked the lake and it was the perfect place to have a glass of wine to watch the sunset. The gym was well equiped. For the fall and winter, the outdoor pool is closed, but the heated indoor pool was very comfortable. Our kids didn't want to swim in the pool because swim caps are required (provided, if needed). Grounds were beautiful and black sand beach available for those brave enough to swim in the cold lake water! The hotel is not in Pucon, but it was a short drive. We liked being outside of Pucon and in the quieter area.
The park lake has a spa and a indoor pool. The spa has a great variety of massages. we had a couples massage. By the pool there is a bar where you can have crafted beers wine an desserts. Great wifi also.
This hotel operates from an enviable location, with sprawling views of the Villarica lake from each room. The spa with saunas are also a nice touch. However, the positives stop there. Responsiveness - would rate this as below average. A week prior to our arrival, I inquired about the cost of an airport pickup. I didn't receive a response until almost 5 days later from Katherine saying that a pickup has been booked (we didn't want a pickup, just a price quote). This ties in generally with the hotel's lack of suitability with foreigners. I would advise anyone coming here to brush up on your Spanish because the English spoken by staff here is almost nonexistent. Mosquitos - there are many mosquitos flying about in the lobby, owing to the hotels location by the water. This can become a nuisance for those who may be concerned or paranoid about getting bit. We were bit by mosquitos in our room as well. Dedication towards customer service - this is our main gripe. In the middle of our final night, we were interrupted by constant calls from the front desk, saying that we had an airport shuttle ready for us downstairs. They were mistaken, as we were not flying until the evening, not that we even gave them our flight information. We were highly annoyed by this as we could not sleep for the rest of the night. We expressed our disappointment at this mistake via email and in person to the front desk, and were promised a follow up. But it was not until I proactively followed up did the manager Brenda finally speak with us. She defended her points by saying that it was not the hotel's fault because the shuttle driver asked for us and it was up to the hotel's 'standard' to call us. But this is where the implausibility begins - no one in the hotel had our flight information except for the wedding coordinator, and as a result someone within Brenda's chain of command made the mistake of choosing our room to call at 5am. With any high caliber hotel establishment, one would expect some type of compensation in exchange for this disturbance. We asked for a discount on our last night's stay since we barely slept, and Brenda did not budge. She claimed it was not the hotel's fault because she could not track down who it was that made the mistake of thinking we were flying that morning. Well, in the absence of a culprit, the hotel should stand by its actions; the hotel took the action of calling us despite having erroneous flight information. The hotel would counter to this and say they gave us a 'discount' by not charging a late checkout fee. But we were not even in a position to check out because Brenda did not even speak with us until 1pm (checkout at 12pm) and she told us to wait again while she inquired about this issue further. We spent the afternoon in the lobby bar while the room was vacant and this issue was still outstanding and being explored with no closure. It astounds me that she would think a late checkout waiver acts as a compensatory action for our disturbance and lack of sleep.
We loved the view, fee wifi, excellent breakfast and dinner and the great staff ( special thanks to Humberto and Claudia who spoke perfect English)- easy to get the local bus for 400 CP at the entrance. Our only suggestions are to play quieter more appropriate music and ban kids from the pool at lease for a few hours so us lap swimmers can swim! It is really a picture perfect 5 star hotel, we hope to be back
This hotel could be a top spot, it's got the potential and the location is fabulous. The food was also quite good, however the service in general needs improving. We had to wait until 6 pm to access the room...the bar staff is far too slow (or missing in action). Reception was very understanding and trying to solve any issues, but you still had to wait a while. The pool and the sun bathing area by the lake are a wonderful location to unwind.
An excellent hotel just in front of Villarrica Lake, quiet, elegant, all rooms with a full view over the lake. Nice amenities, including indoor pool. Breakfast was very good, not too many options but all of them very fresh. People were very helpful and friendly.
Very good location, halfway between Villarrica and Pucón; excellent view (from all rooms) to Lake Villarrica. Good meals, excellent bar and barman; very nice Spa, well attended by Erica, delicious pool and very good sauna. You are 10 minutes away from Pucón: great restaurants, casino, thermal waters, trekking and national parks very close by. You have lots of activities, of all sorts, or you can just rest and have a very pleasant stay at the hotel.
