We visited Vienna due to Christmas Markets and it is a lovely city. We arrived early at the hotel and unfortunately room was not ready, however once it was ready it stank from the bathroom.... Considering Vienna is an expensive place, this hotel is pretty affordable for a short stay and the location is convenient. The breakfast looked really poor and it was expensive so we didn't end up having it. Overall, it is an ok hotel, but it could do with some development.
Must say that my standard of stays in Vienna is usually high, so this place which was on my list of corporate rates was quite a disappointmtment. To their defence I must say that the place was kind of clean and very warm. They gave me a room with the window close to the neon-sign on the street which gave the whole experience an atmosphere of american ganster movie. Fortunately I had so much jet lug that this wasn't a problem. The breakfast was disappointing, poor and with numbered slices of processed-ham-lookalike and some cheese, but all-in-all, I had worst experiences. Not recomended for tourists only for those who have business in the area.
Do you remember that time you had to visit grandparents of your friend, everything was old, smelled as decomposition and was just creepy? That's the atmosphere of this hotel. Receptionist was close to rude during the check out. Another during the check in was better, but they acted like they are not getting paid for that work. Just not present. So in case you let experiences like this ruin your trips, then avoid this place. There is a lot of other options.
+'s 1. Helpful staff who speak English and tolerate bad touristy German. 2. Clean sheets and towels 3. Very quiet night / no noise 4. Close to main train station 5. Sufficient breakfast buffet 6. Doesn't smell of smoke 7. Warm, cosy 8. Great shower! 9. Vending machine in foyer -'a 1. Grotty carpet in room 2. No bath or sink plug 3. Annoying TV system 4. Double room but only one chair 5. A Safe in the room is available but appears to be an added extra 6. Cigarette burn in seat 7 No beverage making facilities in room Not their fault... A) ALL the supermarkets and convenience stores are shut by 18.30 hrs and no drink / bar on sale on site.
Our family stayed here for one night. Hotel is very nice with a good location and perfect connection with public transportation. Service was polite and as it should be, breakfast good value for the money. Would definitely stay here again. Premises are slightly worn out, but I didn't expect to see Hilton quality anyways.
We have just spent 2 nights at this hotel...we have only chosen for parking facility . We could not book parking in advance but the hotel offered the space for me for 15 euro/day in their underground garage.. Be aware that is very tricky to get down in the basement as is very narrow . Do not waste your time looking for cheaper parking around there isn t any!!! You can park only for 2hrs on the street !.The room hotel was a bit of a shock when we arrived...but is ok to be honest...it could do with a furniture upgrade...but it has aircon very good when 40 celsius...it has tv, good shower, is quiet ,has fridge. I have stayed in worst places for 55 euro /night. The hotel is fine for the money you pay.I have walked to the centre...15-20 min.
To be fair, at the price I got my single room for and in that area (which isn't half as bad as some of the areas I've stayed in in Vienna, and is actually on the good side), this was a bargain. The staff were very helpful and accommodated my requests for issuing an invoice to my employer (this can sometimes be a pain, but not here!) and also helped out when I was looking to find something to eat after coming from my conference day super-late one evening. The room was actually surprisingly big for what I expected, clean, and tastefully decorated (though, this wasn't something I was paying attention to). But all in all, I'd definitely recommend this place for everyone on a business trip as it's that sort of no-frills-good-service type of experience.
Pros: Value for money (when you book early) Cons: RT (Russia Today) as the only English Language Option on the TV ! ( OK so there was FRANCE24 (English)) Book early for best prices - The "Joystick" tap takes a little getting use to - open it gently otherwise you could be in for a drowning. The In-shower Radio was a bonus as was the around body spray misty thing!! (I was in Room 103!)
Location must be reach by bus or taxi, little bit far by foot from central station. Staff helpfull, check in and check out fast, the restaurant provide halal food, the room has space for three of us, very recommended for family and those who seek halal food
good things: . everything is clean and tidy . the hotel is on a high road with a tram line . only 20 minutes walk from the opera house . the staff is kind wrong things: . 2 x single mattress on a double frame bed . no kettle, tea bags, coffee... . unbearable hot in the room and bathroom . sewage pipes are directly above the room, only drywall between it and the room area - sleeping is hard because of the load flush noises . they recommend airport taxi but it's horrible price: €45/4 person. the train from nearby is only €3.90/1 person
