I loved Venice, Like no other city. Da Mamo great restaurant
Stayed here in May 2014 The hotel is in a good spot, but that's about it. Our room was ancient and tiny (smallest I've ever stayed in). The walls were dirty with old mosquito blood and smudges, the curtains had dust on them and there was very few power outlets. Due to no screens being on the windows, you will get bugs. The room had no virtually no space for luggage to be opened, so it was either on the bed (gross) or on the floor in front of the door. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom floor even with the curtain all the way spread out. The A/C did not work; it just blew out room temperature air. When I told front desk about the A/C, I was told that there's nothing they could do and was then told, in a snarky tone, that I may not have been using the thermostat properly (I was). Some of the staff was good and some not so good, it just depended on the day. The two guys that I dealt with were actually awesome. The breakfast was decent, but only available for 2 1/2 hours. It featured some lunch meats, cakes, cereals, yogurt, juices and more. The hotel pictures are very misleading and need to be updated. The standard double room is about 8x8' with a king bed taking up most of the space. There was an ancient broken radio table stand and some other old furniture in the room. The bathroom was tight, but manageable. Watch out for the bathtub, if standing to shower, as the floor of the tub is oddly curved and dangerous. The hotel displays the room keys right at the front desk which is not safe as it clearly shows guests who's around and who's not (they ask you to turn in your key each time you leave). I would not stay here again unless the hotel spent some money to update the bathrooms and clean up/modernize the sleeping area.
Room 307 was not ideal. Very small . Water pressure was unkind. The bath tub / shower was next to windows and when standing my bells swung at Venice just as the bells in the towers do. No problem tho... when in venice do as the romans do.
The hotel is a beautiful converted palace. The room we stayed in had a beautiful fresco painted on the ceiling. It is located about halfway between San Marco and the train station. It is on a canal and near a couple of plazas.
It was our first time on Venice. The hotel is located in a great area. Close to the taxi boat. The staff is great, really friendly people. The room is really clean. The bathroom was a little small for a 6' guy. Overall, I will definitely stay on the Pausania hotel on my next trip!!!
We stayed here for a wedding for 2 nights in September 2011. Although it was a little hard to find at first, we ended up loving the neighborhood once we walked around. Close to St. Mark's and the Rialto. Had a nice breakfast and a computer w/free internet to use. The room was clean and was the only place we stayed in all of Italy that had good "American quality" air-conditioning.
