Very comfortable, very clean. Extremely quiet location a short way out of town and away from the trains and traffic. Great breakfasts! Rick and Donna are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay while we biked portions of the GAP trail.
My husband and I spent 2 nights in this lovely place last weekend. We were riding a section of the Gap bike trail. The host Rick and Donna are very personable people. We had arranged for a shuttle to take us to Ohiopyle ,and we rode bikes back to Connellsville. We found out later that Rick could have done this for us, and probably a lot cheaper. Seams like Home is a retreat center, and we stayed in the Magnolia Room. The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated with homemade quilts, and are cheerfully painted. The king size bed was very comfortable. Rick and Donna prepared the most yummy breakfast every morning. Omelets, waffles fresh baked apples, fruits. I will tell my scrapbooking friends about this Gem of a place, and may be returning to have fun with them playing with our paper, photos and cutters.
Rick and Donna answered my call at 9 PM on a Thursday night as we walked out of another reservation due to feeling unsafe in the building and saved our anniversary trip. Rick gave great directions thru the back roads of the Laurel Highlands, settled us in after we drove thru a torrential rain storm, turned the AC on before we arrived, and made our stay wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better place. The American room was perfect..king bed and large bath. The billiard table was a nice find and a way to relax for an hour on Friday afternoon before dinner. It's a quiet and quaint location that provided a home base to tour Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, and Polymath Park on our tour of Frank Lloyd Wright homes. The breakfast omelet that Rick makes is phenomenal and they accommodated a food intolerance by finding a new recipe for waffles for me. I will not hesitate to stay here again.
My husband and I stayed at Seams Like Home for two nights. The name reflects the owners' interest in hosting quilting groups, but it was perfect as a base for our sightseeing in the area. (We went to Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, and Shanksville. All highly recommended). Both Rick and Donna were so welcoming. Our room (the Garden Room) had a king size bed and was very comfortable. It was so clean that I thought it had been renovated recently but that's just how Donna keeps it! Breakfast both days was excellent and Rick has some good recommendations for local restaurants. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and rainy, otherwise I'm sure that we would have enjoyed the patio and pond.
Christmas present from my children that I’m so upset that I waited so long to use. I want to give a great warm thank you to Rick and Donna. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time, and not to mention breakfast was fabulous.
Hosts, Rick and Donna made our 5 member party very welcome. Three of us were cycling the Great Allegheny Passage and the other two were support vehicles for the cyclists. Upon arrival, we were treated with courtesy and given a tour of the facility and our rooms. Rick had valuable information about the area roads, restaurants in the nearest town and asked when and what we would like for breakfast. We all enjoyed a quiet, restful night and definitely recommend this B & B.
This place was the bomb!!! Eautiful pictorial setting. Nice home with a duck pond, ducks, a fountain, a fire pit and a hammock. Guests get the entire upper floor with separate entrance to themselves. There is a large room with washer and dryer they use for their quilting weekends. Another large room for guests with a pool table, tv, sofa, chairs, etc. Bedrooms are large. We had the Americana room (kg bed) which shares a large bathroom with another room with twin beds. So my husband and I were in the king room and our adult sons in the other room with 2 twin beds. There is a connecting double sink vanity and then another room LARGE bathroom with a shower, jacuzzi tub sink and commode. Perfect for a family or group of friends of 4!! Guests also have their own kitchen with access to free cold bottled water, popcorn, use of the fridge and freezer. Breakfast was great with home made egg frittatas, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and home made banana bread. This place is perfect for couples or families that would like to bike, hike, get away for relaxation, and/or tour the area. The hosts are Very friendly and will drive you to and from the trail which is only about 5-10 minutes.
Donna and Rick were wonderful hosts, they were extremely responsive and helpful to us during our stay. If you're looking for a private place off the trail or a relaxing getaway then you'd love this place.
My friend and I met and stayed at this adorable B&B. Very quaint and comfy. All the rooms have there own private baths and beautiful quilts on each bed. Decor is very pretty Would be a wonderful place to go for a retreat to quilt since they hold retreats there The owners go out of there way to tell you about the area and where to go . The area is great for outdoors activity White water rafting, hiking, biking etc. The breakfast is delicious and they accommodate your likes and also very aware of allergies as I have Celiac. Beautiful pond with two friendly ducks Also they have a beautiful area to sit and have a campfire Even though of marshmallows!!! I highly recommend this lovely B&B Can’t wait to go back
One of my wonderful friends got married a few weeks ago, and us bridesmaids stayed with her at this bnb. It was delightful to stay there--I have never been to an overnight place that was so clean. There were candy dishes in every room, a wonderful lounge to get all the last minute details done. The breakfast service was amazing--we couldn't finish it all! We ended up doing hair and makeup in the dining area because there is a wall-to-wall mirror. We took pictures getting ready in one of the guest bedrooms. Once ready, we took pictures on the gorgeous grand piano, staircase, and outside on the property. Donna and Rick were so accommodating. We had so much fun in a beautiful, cozy place. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be staying here. Thanks, Donna and Rick!
