We had a suite for a family of 4 for 3 days. Holiday Inn has been a first choice for me, as they are always clean and have suites! They did not disappoint. The room was HUGE!! And I cannot rave enough about the restaurant. The chef came out to discuss with my friend her meal (as she is celiac). He made a meal just for her...The food every time was TOP NOTCH. The service everywhere (front desk, restaurant, cleaning) was a delight. Thank you for such an excellent experience.
I have been to the area several times and it’s the first time to this hotel and wow what a miss out. I was welcomed by a fantastic accommodating employee Nav who did everything he could to make sure I was happy with my upcoming stay. The room was fantastic , bed was comfy and towels had been soft. I know not a lot to ask but hard to find these days. The breakfast at the restaurant was also very good. Overall great stay.
How can the folk who design these places even consider placing "quiet" guest rooms just a few metres from the jet engine level kitchen extractor fans. Well, they have in this place and the result is a nightmare. In my room (331) and anywhere close to it, you're not just defended by the things, you can feel the floor of your room vibrating. On complaining, I was told "the kitchen closes at 10" and therefore declined the offered move. I wish I hadn't because the racket was still going strong at 11. Half an hour of phoning the front desk every 5 minutes produced no response, so I got dressed and went down. The desk clerk was having a lovely chat with a fellow employee which was obviously of more importance than the customer satisfaction the hotel brags about. Silly me for thinking that without me and fellow customers there would be no jobs to facilitate standing around and chatting in the first place. Anyway the message finally penetrated that ever-smiling but clearly uncaring demeanour that these people are so well practised at and the things finally shut down about 11.15. Well, the vibration went away but there was some noise throughout the night. Sleep quality was, shall we say, not the best. The hotel itself is fine. Clean and welcoming. Typical HI standard. But, oh dear, don't stay here if you're even remotely a light sleeper. Obviously the hotel can't change the design at this stage. But at least, in a spirit of open business practise, it should inform customers in advance about the issue and perhaps offer discounts on the rooms on this side of the building. Even then earplugs in the rooms would be a good idea. Not for me though. I won't be staying here again.
Very nice hotel, the staff were super nice and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and spacious. There is ample parking, a indoor pool, and a restaurant on site with pretty good food. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a last minute trip planned to Vancouver and everything in Vancouver was super expensive. This hotel is located 30 minutes away from Vancouver and provided the perfect stay for us. The hotel is located a 2 minute drive away from a plaza that houses a grocery store, liquor store and a Timmies! The check in service was very courteous, provided that we checked in at 11 pm. The hotel seemed new or recently renovated because we could smell the freshness. The rooms were clean and in order. No issues whatsoever. Would recommend this hotel if visiting Vancouver with family and if you don't want to spend a lot.
This was a great one night stay. Check in was fast and perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable. Check out was a breeze. My only concern was the restaurant was not open for breakfast. Opens at 7:00 am. Other than that this was one of the Holiday Inns I have stayed at. I will definitely return.
Poor service at desk. We were quoted $179 per night for 2 nights but on checkout we were charged $199 for 2nd night and friends in another suite were charged $169 and $$189 for same two nights - no explanation for difference from clerk at desk. He said he would talk to manager and email re refunding our $20 but after several days no message Nd no refund. Will not stay again.
Staying at this hotel was definitely a decision I wish that I could reverse. The book appears to be nice, but if one looks closer, the age or poor maintenance really shows. One of the criteria for staying at this location was that there was a restaurant. Not worth it. One can do much better elsewhere. Might have to drive a bit, but definitely do so. You will not regret the decision.
I booked this hotel for one night for business, needed to be in South Surrey the next morning. Holiday Inn is my "go to" chain because I know I'll always get a good bed and super clean room. This property is fairly new, adjacent to the Cloverdale Rodeo Grounds and a block away from a shopping centre with great food and beverage options. As a solo traveller I will usually avoid a ground floor room for security concerns, but this time I got one and it was just fine. The proximity to the front desk was nice, and it was tucked away beside an office that's used in the daytime, so there was no noise from adjoining rooms. I got dinner from Umami Sushi down the street (delicious and fresh), and settled in for a really good sleep thanks to the triple glazed windows that screened out the traffic sounds from 64 Street. The AC units are new and very quiet, so that was a bonus as well. A lot of older properties have aging units that rattle and roar all night, which doesn't make for restful sleep. The staff are terrific, very friendly and the place was spotless and super comfortable. Well done!
We have stayed here every year mainly because of the convenient location to relatives. This year we noticed a marked deterioration in customer service, common hotel extras, and overall friendliness of staff. No longer are we greeted with a friendly good morning or hello as we pass the front desk etc. It seems making money has become the managements mission statement and they have yet to realize that without genuine friendly service, repeat customers will be non existent. There is an overall feeling of " cheapness" about the hotel. We frequently had to ask for new plastic cups or coffee cups or coffee pods etc. I don't blame the housekeeping staff as she was clearly overworked. There should have been at least 2 housekeepers cleaning the rooms. One hesitates to complain knowing management will probably blame her. The hotel is still conveniently located close to Starbucks, Save On, MacDonalds , Shoppers Drug mart etc. We will be hesitant to stay here next year given the attitude of management.
