Visited February 2017. The hotel itself is good, centrally situated not far from the beach. We found plenty of street parking outside though not sure if this would be the same in the summer, We had a room on the 8th floor at the front with a good view over the roofs of other buildings to the sea, The room was fine spacious, good shower above the bath, bed was comfortable unfortuately the pillow was dreadful, so thin as to be virtually non existant. The breakfast was OK, very Spanish but what else would you expext. Shame about the coffee from the machine was not good. The worst thing about the Hotel was the dinners, we stayed on half board, mainly because in winter we wern't sure if there was going to be many restaurants open, (as it happens there were plenty). Dinner was choice of 3 starters, soup was Ok, salad, very basic, and one other which was generaly from freezer into fryer. 3 mains, 1 fish 2 meats, 2 nights served with cold chips and cold frozen veg, 3rd night warm jacket potato cold veg again. Even the main was from freezer and fried or grilled. Dessert was yogurt, fruit or soggy cake or milk pudding. Shame about food, the rooms and position probably deserve 4 rating, very much let down by food which would bearly scrape a 2 rating. Tip, if looking for supermarket, out front door turn left and immediatly left down side street nice supermarket 2 minutes walk on right. Very good veg shop on left on the way.
Although we stayed at the end of January and the hotel was fairly quiet, we thought they provided an excellent service with the meals although they cater more for Spanish tastes. Also the Wi-Fi worked really well in our 8th floor room. There was ample free parking around the hotel.
This hotel would be great for someone who needs a short stay in the area. The hotel is clean and friendly...the reception staff were helpful with the directions and train times. The breakfast was satisfactory, although they could not put the breakfast away fast enough. It was a quite hotel...the only thing that I was not happy about is the comfortablenes of the bed. We had specifically asked for a double bed and when asked at reception for this they just looked at us like we'd asked to stay in the presidential suite.
I recently returned to stay at this hotel having spent a week here with my partner a few years ago. We both found the hotel comfortable and clean. The dining hall was fine with a reasonable range of choices during dinner as well as breakfast. This is by no means at the higher end of the spectrum in terms of luxury hotels however it doesn't sell itself as this. What you get is extremely good value for money, good efficient staff, clean and spacious rooms basic but acceptable food. All in all I returned here following a few days spent at the Valencia Motogp and was not disappointed. Thanks again Cibeles
Room good size, beds comfortable, spacious bath room, his/her basins, shower over the bath, both good. Clean, helpful, staff, entertainment at night. Buffet meals, also microwave in restaurant to heat foods if not warm enough. Pool decent size, 5 minutes walk to sandy beach. Bus to centre just round the corner, supermarket just by. Only fault, loungers not comfortable by pool, need replacing. very hot July/August, but air conditioning works well. Would go again, very little English spoken! Hotel near to Habour, lovely views
The hotel is well located for beach and restaurants as well as a handy Carrefour supermarket and post office round the corner. Room clean, staff pleasant, wifi free (but best in reception area) and parking in the road outside or underneath the hotel (charge). All quite acceptable and good value
Just stayed at Hotel Cibeles Playa Gandia again for the 5th time, and again had a great stay. Hotel is clean, quiet, friendly and helpful staff and the food was great with fantastic selection of hot and cold dishes. bedrooms are a good size with good views from the balconies. Booked again to go back for 2 weeks next month. Garyth
The hotel is a real find in terms of value for money; at least in Winter Reception and the rest of the staff were very helpful and all spoke some English Breakfast was a buffet but good quality food, except for the coffee! Our room had a great view onto the sea and was reasonably large and adequately furnished buy very clean. The beach was only five minutes walk away, although the hotel had a car park we parked on the streets with no problem never more then 50 yards from the hotel door.
We picked this hotel as a stop-over on our drive along the Spanish coast en route back home to France. The reviews read well and Gandia looked to be a more authentic resort for the Spanish rather than all-European. The hotel is a modern tower block but don't be put off - the reception area is light and airy and the welcome on reception was very pleasant. Our room was on the tenth floor and what a surprise - the view over the sea was magnificent! You can see for far and wide from the very large balcony. The room was spacious and well appointed, as was the bathroom, with the only fault being the tatty grouting round the bath. We slept very well and enjoyed a very pleasant buffet breakfast, which was included in the price of 49€ - a real bargain. We were able to park directly outside the hotel but there is a private underground car park.
Stayed here 3 times this year. In late Spring and summer it was very good value. The buffet breakfast has lots of variety - still continental, but then Gandia is a predominantly Spanish resort - for Spaniards - which is why we like it! A strong word of warning however - do NOT have the coffee from the machine. For a country which has great coffee in bars this sludge has got to be the worst I have ever had. ( Luckily there's a great bar over the road (Bodeguita del Jamon with great coffee and a good atmosphere at night. Proper locals bar). Evening meal has lots of variety too and is fine. However, on our visit in November we were disappointed by the quality of the evening meal on offer. There were few guests so maybe they thought it wasn't worth employing a proper chef but the food was well below the standard of the summer menu. For lunch we were sent to the Ripoll by the jetty. Lovely food - mostly seafood, beautifully presented. But they kept us waiting for 40 mins for starters one day which was a shame. The rooms at the Playa Cibeles are spacious, clean and all have a great sea view with a large balcony. Friendly and helpful reception and restaurant staff.
