This is a historic building from 1935 converted from a residence for single gold miners to a lovely hostel. It is set in a neighborhood of preserved log cabins built by the mining company at the same time. The hostel is also in walking distance to the mine museum and very nice bistro. Loved it all!

This eloquent older building has a lot of character having been one of the first boarding houses for single miners in Val d’Or in the early years. It has everything you need. It is in a quiet area of town yet close to important transportation routes. The owner, Nico, is very pleasant and accommodating. I would highly recommend the Auberge L’Opailleur.
