One of the highlights of our trip!
Staying at Christina’s villa was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy this year. We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Christina and her mother on the night we arrived. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable, and we wished we could have spent more time on the property. Many thanks for the great hospitality!

Sorry to say but a little disappointing
Our family stayed here for a week in July 2018. We were disappointed as the villa did not live up to our expectations or the photographs and reviews. It was a little tired with threadbare rugs on the floor. I appreciate the building is old but the furniture doesn't have to be! The curtains and tablecloths in the bedrooms needed laundering and although the bathrooms were clean all four ensuites had severe mould. One of the bedrooms had disabled access and a wet room effect but wasn't able drain the water away leaving the bathroom swamped in water all day long. We didn't actually use the fourth bedroom in the basement as intended. It was very damp and musty and the mould in the bathroom was just not acceptable. There was a humidifier in the room which showed there was obviously a problem with the room, the sheets felt damp and there was an obvious smell of damp. My daughters shared a double bedroom upstairs instead of having their own. I spent 3 hours upon arrival with a scrubbing brush and some special treathment to make all the bathrooms acceptable to use. The mould was clearly from several months worth of incompetent cleaning and not just a poor service or quick handover. I made it known to the owner Christina who lent me the scrubbing brush and apologised that the bathrooms were not acceptable. I pointed out that their cleaning company should see the before and after photos that I took and she agreed. Christina did say that she would send the cleaners back to the villa in the week but this never happened as she went away herself for a week. Ricardo, Christina's brother was extremely helpful when needed, one of our toilets didn't flush and he arranged a plumber to come and fix this. However there was no communication between Ricardo and Christina as on our departure date we argued the cleaning bill of 100 euros seeing as I had had to do the cleaning of the bathrooms when I arrived and he knew nothing about this problem. After a discussion and showing him the before and after photographs he agreed this was not good and we paid half the price of the cleaning which we appreciated. Our villa experience this time was unfortunately not one that I would want to repeat.
However the pool area and gardens and view were just as photographed and very well kept and clean, comfortable sunbeds and a spectacular view that we won't forget. The property was a good location for sightseeing and close to a good mainline station.

Authentic Stone Villa in the Hills
We stayed in the smaller villa in early October. The area was isolated and charming with the sound of running water outside the back windows. If you are looking for a relaxing place in the country this will be a great option. Before booking I looked at many places and read countless reviews so for anyone reading this, I hope it is helpful! I would recommend visiting in the warm months when you can use the pool and enjoy the beautiful natural setting. For my family it was too cold at this time of year and we went sightseeing or shopping every day so we didn't get to enjoy the property to its fullest.. This property will be ideal for a group that wants to enjoy the local area. It was closer to an hour in high traffic times to Florence. I would definitely return with others that appreciate a laid back atmosphere and don't need tv in every room. The photos are accurate and its decorated very nicely. Everyone we came in contact with was very nice. The homeowner went shopping for us before we arrived & the brother delivered wood for the fireplace (for a fee). The Coop grocery in town was great! There is a washing machine on property and you can line dry clothing.
We travelled with a nine month old and they had a crib & high chair. It would be best to bring children who could walk bc of the stairs & stone floors.
I highly recommend you arrive during the daytime so that you can easily find the place and take time with the host to learn the ins and outs of your rental. It will make for a much better experience.

Pasqua a Vaiano
