felt cheerful, taken care of and in a friendly place...the smell of food in the main lobby was not good. and the door man was not always attendant. Reception were very helpful and housekeeping was outstanding...
We enjoyed one night at this beautiful hotel property. The rooms were very spacious and ours even had a balcony to look over the river/stream. We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast was awesome! Wish we had had more time to just hang out at the hotel and maybe stay another night. It is a very luxurious place!
Excellent hotel with excellent service combined with friendly and helpful staff in a wonderful location with a very high standard of amenities available to their guests. The hotel and surrounding area is definitely worth another visit.
This Hotel boasts a picturesque location in Bavaria, right on the lakeside. Upon arrival the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant (5 stars to all). I had a small medical problem and they arranged a doctor appointment for me. Extremely grateful to them making this happen. Guest Services arranged a hotel car to take me to the doctor and return me to the hotel. Now to the "almost" issues: It is one of the larger lakeside hotels in the area (300 guest rooms) and consequently attracts some large tour groups. On our first morning we followed a rather large group of tourists who descended upon the breakfast buffet like a swam of locusts. Hardly any tables were left available when we arrived at 8AM and most of the buffet food offerings were depleted and most were cold. It appeared that the staff were overwhelmed and under-supported to attend to other guests. Also, we made and confirmed dinner reservations at the hotel only to find that the restaurant we made the reservations for was closed--apparently the staff making the reservation and confirming the reservation did not know the restaurant opening schedule. Another annoying issue was that we were unable to get any Spa times during our 2 day stay--they were fully booked. We attempted to make an appointment at check-in and again the following morning. A exclusive Spa resort such as this, should always ensure that there are "buffer" times available for Hotel guests. So, if you plan to stay here, book the Spa far in Advance. The Hotel should also make note of the Spa popularity on the WebSite and when booking. These issues make it hard to rate this property as an outstanding experience. Maybe it is because it was early in the season and staff is getting settled in. Maybe it was because our timing over-lapped with large tour groups. Whatever the reason, we did leave with a sense of disappointment. When we brought some of these issues to the attention of management (Jonas at the front desk)--he accepted responsibility and did offer us a couple of cocktail comps and immediately fixed our non-working internet. He could do nothing about the Spa experience (or lack thereof). All in all it was a nice stay in a nice Bavarian location.
This is a long overdue review. My partner and I spent a long weekend at Althoff's Seethotel Ueberfahrt to celebrate my birthday. I was very pleased with the service and the hotel. The building is not at all attractive but the location of the hotel makes it an amazing gem. It is situated by the lake and guests of the hotel will have a private access to the lake. There's a secluded section for guests where sunbeds are set up. I've had one of my best breakfasts at this hotel. It was truly a treat, the lavish selection of breakfast treats show how Bavaria takes its breakfasts seriously. And of course, you get your fill of Champagne as you tuck in to the selection of bakes, cheeses, fruits, everything! It was a lovely weekend and a good luxury hotel choice.
The restaurants were also good, although I would make a suggestion to M Jürgens: Although I made an exception this time I NEVER go to a restaurant that does not uses table clothes. With such an astonishing, surprising and good cuisine it woud add a touch of elegance that I missed.
If you want to enjoy Tegernsee, this is the best choice you can make. Best location overlooking the idyllic lake, beautiful property and wonderful caring staff. Thank you for making this stay a great experience, hope to be back soon
We arrived for check in on a Sunday and the grounds and lobby were a flurry of activity. Automobiles were stacked - most top line and showy. Their owners were there finishing a weekend of relaxation with lobby and hotel services - bar, special flambé meals, and spa. The hotel is very tastefully appointed and the friendly staff add to a great experience. The restaurant options range from casual to super Michelin star rated. Beautiful experience.
We have visited the hotel o lot of times. And each time we found what we really needed - quietness and tranquillity. Great comfort and unity with nature. Wonderful spa and sauna complex. Outstanding service and hospitality. Plenty of reasons to return.
This hotel is a gem located on the banks of Lake Tegurnsee in Bavaria Germany. It has to be one of the most picturesque places on earth, it is just beautiful with a quaint littel town great for walking an dit is great either in summer or winter from what we could see.
