There is no better place to enjoy the celebration of the Day of the Dead in the Purepecha Tradition. Rafa, the owner, made us always feel at home and was an amazing host for all of the events. He organized a guided tour to various cemeteries.

Sometimes you want to unplug the world and treat yourself the best. And you are looking for such a place with a view, away from fancy restaurants, shopping, tech, TV, cell phone reach, etc. Well here is a clue: book a suite in Hacienda Ucazanaztacua and find great landscapes from your own window!

My wife and I went to attend a wedding reception in September of 2016. The reception was on a deck overlooking the lake - it was absolutely gorgeous! We watched the sun set over the water while we enjoyed our dinner - the most beautiful view we saw during our short trip to Mexico! The staff went out of their way to take care of us. They were constantly attentive and super friendly. We met the owner, Rafael - he gave us great tips for the rest of our vacation in Mexico, including tours, hotels, and restaurants. We didn't get to stay at the hotel as it is very small (6 to 8 rooms), but heard that the suites were very nicely appointed. We would highly recommend!

We attended a wedding reception overlooking the lake and it was absolutely gorgeous - one of the most beautiful venues we have ever seen! But even more outstanding was the service. The staff were all very caring and attentive. My husband was sick during our trip to Mexico, so we had to leave the event early. No shuttles were available, so the hotel owner, Rafael Garcia, personally drove both of us back to the hotel we were staying at in the town of Patzcuaro. He gave us his personal cell phone number and told us to call him if we needed anything else at all that night. Amazing man and an amazing property. We would highly recommend anyone visit there!

A little hard to get to, but paradise. Ideal if you just want to get away from it all. Breakfast on the terrace by the infinity pool can't be beat. Wonderful food, attentive service, spectacular views, grand rooms, and no TVs (but great internet).

I can't say enough great things about Hacienda Ucazanaztacua. The hotel is beautifully situated on a hill that goes down to the lake overlooking the lake, islands and a mountain accross the lake. It has a beautiful infinity pool, lush grounds and the BEST staff. The owner Rafael is very kind and full of information, he is obviously a world traveler and has taken the best practices he has seen and implemented them at his hotel. The waiters are very friendly and accomadating, it has TOP QUALITY service. Upon arrival they make you the best frozen margaritas I've ever had ( I don't ussually like tequila) in very cool skull glasses. We stayed in the troje over the lake the first night and it was magical. It is a little log cabin and from your windows you can see men fishing and the clouds moving accross the mountains. The food has been terrific as well. The second night we stayed in Perukuni which is equally as nice in a different way. It has sweeping views of the property and lake. The sunsets are amazing. It's nice to be outside of town but close enough to drive in and explore neighboring towns and visits out onto the lake. The breakfast is not to be missed either! They set up tables overlooking the pool and lake, they feed you enough good food to last you until dinner! Can't say enough good things. We will recomend to our friends and family and will be back again!

Excellent in every aspect, from the warmth of the people to the rustic-modern architecture, me and my family loved every detail, kids loved the place... The mood is very relaxing, very good quality furniture (pillows and beds are like sleeping in clouds)...And the food!! You can taste the love it was made with!

We were spending a weekend in Michoacan. First we saw the butterflies then drove to Pátzcuaro. I have not been to Michoacan in 15 years. This hotel is extraordinary. The owner was present, told us the visión, history and how the buildings were built. It is very indigenious use of materials and respect for the local culture. Sr. Raphael is a remarkable man. Our rooms were appointed with the highest quality linens, pillows, and amenities. The views from the rooms were wonderful. The food was excellent. I would book soon and go to this wonderful bit of heaven, It will soon be hard to get a room. It is a secret that will not last. Very few Americans have found this place, I am glad to be one of the first. It gives luxury accomodations a bar to strive for.

This is place is a must should you find yourself in the beautiful state of Michoacan... It is rather out-of-the-way which only adds to its beauty... a small hotel right on the Lago de Patzcuaro with people who live to serve your every need... Great food... great margaritas (some of the best I have ever tasted)...

The place is wonderful with the most beautiful view. The hotel have spacious room, really gorgeous with the view to the lake. The service is wonderful and the food delicious. It is perfect place for honey moon, parties and just relax.
