The hotel is situated in lovely green surroundings. The reception area is nice and bright. There is plenty of seating near to the reception area in case you are kept waiting, whilst checking in or checking out.The receptionist who checked us in was ok. She did not smile, but she was not unfriendly. It was good to be able to use the lift with our luggage and to save my bad legs! We were pleased to find that our room was reasonably nice, (unlike some other rooms we have had in Fletcher hotels in the past). It was a hot day and we were delighted to have some chairs and a table outside the back door. There were cushions for these chairs on a shelf in the wardrobe. When we sat outside, it was a pity to see so many thick and tall weeds in the surrounding terrace area. I expect the gardener never goes there! How lovely if it could be regularly tidied outside. We thought it was a great addition to have an insect screen door over the outside door in our room. BUT..... the screen door was so hard to use. The runners did not work properly. It was hard to open and so hard to close, as part of it was broken and the magnetic catch was not strong enough to hold it closed completely. Why on earth didn't they check this and repair it? I was very ploeased to have a suitcase stand in the room and this is one very good thing and so useful. There was a nice desk and a comfy chair, and a rather small, but nice flat screen tv on the wall above it. There were two other chairs which looked very inviting and comfortable, BUT......oh so low! I sat in one and I could not get out again! My husband had to pull me out. After that, I had to use two of the outside chair cushions on one chair to sit in it and to be able to get out again by myself! I found it easier to sit in the desk chair, which was nce. All three chairs had very clean and attractive upholstery, which was nice. Imagine our delight to see a refridgerator in our room and it was plugged in too. We had brought bottles of cold drink with us. BUT....we tried to use it and it did not work!! We went to the receptionist to tell her that it didn't work and all she could say was that she knew that. WHY? WHY? WHY? leave it there in the room if it does not work?!! I am English, and most hotels in England will provide you with a fan if the room is too hot. We also asked if we could borrow a fan, but the receptionist said there were no fans, but she could upgrade us to a room with airconditioning if we paid a higher price! We declined. A hint for the future..... perhaps this hotel should buy in a supply of fans to lend out free of charge to guests if the weather is hot. Our double bed was clean, but was two single mattresses and made up with single sheets and duvets. That was ok, BUT.....the bed was so low! Why are Dutch beds so very low? The mattresses were obviously well used as they had dips in them and during the night became quite uncomfortable, but I have slept in worse beds than that, so I am not really complaining! There were extra pillows in the wardrobe, which was a good thing. The wardrobe was a nice large one with 6 hangers on one side. On the other side were shelves with extra pillows, the outside seat cushions and a safe. Great to have a safe installed in the room. we do not know if the safe worked as we didn't use it. It was one of the good points about this room. I didn't like that the wardrobe was so dark inside. I thought it woulod be much improved if the inside back panel of the wardrobe would be white or cream coloured. The bathroom was nice and light, and pleasant with a nice large, new-looking washbasin and a lovely large mirror above it. Plenty of room to place our toiletries around the washbasin and on the shelf above it. There were two paper cups on the bathroom shelf and two peppermints. What a strange place to put the bathroom/toilet area!! I did not feel that was a very hygienic place to leave them. The toilet was very very low! I am not tall. I am only 165cm tall, but the toilet was too low for me.When I stood, it was at least 4 inches below my knees. How do tall Dutch people manage with such low toilets? There was a nice mirror near to the hairdryer, but it was so very HIGH! I could only see the top of my head in it. Luckily the front panel of that mirror was able to be tipped so I could just see my face........BUT......the hairdryer could NOT be used. The hairdryer hose had a big hole in it. The chamber maids would see this every time they cleaned the bathroom, so they would know that the hairdryer was out of action. Why on earth didn't the management get this hose mended?? Luckily I have had a similar experience in another Dutch hotel, so I never forget to bring my own hairdryer with me every time. There were two toilet rolls in the bathroom, which was nice......BUT one of them was not a new roll, but only half a roll. I really think they could have put a new roll there for new guests and use the half rolls in the staff toilets perhaps. a lovely clean large bath with a shower in it. Such a great idea that they put a small pul-out washing line over the bath. Full marks for that sometimes needed extra. The towels were really lovely. They were soft and very white, although not thick, but I prefer them thin anyway. It is a pity they do not give you an extra towel for swimming pool use. In the early evening we went to the swimming pool. I love the fairground-type horses not far from the pool entrance, but where did the bowling alley go? We used the bowling alley the last time we were in this hotel, and so we missed it this time! The pool is lovely, and I really like the large area where the steps go down into the pool. It is just a pity that the steps are a little narrow. I did not wear my spectacles and found it a little difficult to see where each step ended. I would think that a dark stripe around the edge of each step would help people like me who cannot see all that well without my specs on.Just a tip for the future. Anyway I loved the pool. There were only two upright chairs in the pool area and two loungers. So if the pool would be busy then not many people coud get a seat or somewhere to put their towel and things. There were a lot of chairs and tables outside the pool though, but by the time we went swimming it was not hot enough to have the outside door open. The pool changing room was good as there was a chair in there and also a clothes hanging rail and a nice shower. It is a pity that the soap dispenser in the shower was EMPTY! I had to keep coming out of the shower and getting soap out of the dispenser near to the wash basin. There was a good hairdryer in the changing room and luckily free to use and it worked. So I am reallt impressed with the pool and all the changing room facilities. Very good. On the way back to our room we passed a big old-looking shoe polishing machine, and my husband used it. Very nice touch! The next morning we checked out. There are plenty of car park areas, so there are plenty of spaces. The only problem we found is that there are lots of cars that have large bike racks on the back with up to four bikes on them, which makes their cars extra long. My husband does not have bike racks, but he also does not have a small car, but a long one. So to back out of a parking space was not at all easy as there was no room because of all the bike racks. I suggest that you turn one or two of those small long car parks into a single row of parking for cars with bike racks on, and another long car park space into one for just cars without racks, and that one can have two rows. Just an idea. Getting out of the car park space was not at all easy. To sum it all up. We had a lovely stay in a lovely hotel. We enjoyed the facilities and we appreciated all the extra touches. BUT..... it was such a great pity that a lot of the nice things did not work and were broken. I will attach photos showing many of the things I have written about, both good and bad. It would be lovely to have tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel rooms. We loved this hotel and we will most definitely return!

The room was really nice but it has a GREAT GREAT issue. The window, there is only one to be open, has not fishnet, so as we are in a forest arear we have the visit of tons of mosquitos. That one is the reason because we will never visit this hotel. Simple, but I wasn't able to sleep for the two nights we spent on it. The rooms has an old system of windows which doesn't allows to place a net to cover them. No airco (anyway |I do not use them, can't sleep with the airco) and really warm rooms. No more to say.

Good rooms, good beds, a sauna (which needs to be reserved), a reasonable indoor swimming pool, and a good resataurant. This is all you need for a nice weekend away. The nearby city of Rijssen offers a market on Saturday with a good fish stall and a great dairy stall.

Perfect room (Comfort Room) with small balcony, ample space : writing desk and reading cornrer, quiet situated at wood side, Indoor swimming pool, fitness, sauna, ect.,ect. Well situated for hiking and mountain bike tours, in North Eastern part of Holland(Overijssel), and 20 km's from German border

In a recent advert on tv a friendly smiling lady promoted this hotel. And when I found a voucher of this chain we thought why not for a long weekend. Our friends went aswell, so if the hotel would be a disappointment we would at least have great company in them. The hotel is in the woods away from the road. I found that lovely as it was quiet and you could smell nature. We ate the first night in the hotel. Diner was good and prepared really well, the wine was oke, (a little pricy/quality), service was friendly and attentive. The bedroom looked a little basic, but clean. We had 2 separate beds, which seemed their standard setup, but so what, the beds were comfortable and it was only for 2 days. We had booked bikes and they were new. We were going to visit Deventer on Sunday, but when reception heard of our plans they advised us to swap it to Saturday, as the shops would be open. That was the best tip ever. The town was full of shoppers, great shops, beautiful buildings and great restaurants. Do visit Deventer it is lovely. Best tip ever. All in all a nice hotel, with very friendly personel.

Fantastic hotel tucked away from it all. Great rooms, great restaurant and superb value. I booked it as a last minute thing as I was travelling across Holland and thought it was just great. The only negative was it seemed a little understaffed the night I stayed but it didn't detract from a really pleasant visit.

This hotel is located in the woods around Rijssen and is nice for people who want to walk or bike in the woods. The rooms were okay, however, only with two single beds and no queen or king size. The atmosphere in the hotel is of old, conservative Dutch people. Being Caucasian with an Asian wife, we got many "looks" from the other guest and not all of them friendly. Although the place is nice and the woods were beautiful, it felt depressing to stay in the hotel and I was happy to leave.

We stayed here for one night in a double room It is a very spacious room with comfortable chairs. Good beds. Flatscreen tv wit cable tv.Badroom with bath and shower in the bath Very good room and we had a good sleep. Parking is free. Breakfast is very good. Enough choice of everything very nice view to the forest outside. Personel is very friendly and efficient

Stayed at this hotel from 22-24 September 2015. During the breakfast we had the worst breakfast experience ever in 25 years intensive hotel use. I went to a corner with 2 big shining coffee machines but was stopped by the waitress looking after the breakfast with the remark I should use coffee machine in other corner. I did this although the machine I used looked much more simple than the big shining ones. 10 minutes later my wife arrived and also went straight for the shining new coffee machines. The waitress was not present but arrived just after my wife used the machine. The waitress became angry and in said that guests were not supposed to use this coffee machine, took the cup of coffee away and threw it away. This resulted in an argument with quite a rude attitude of the waitress. This is a Dutch hotel and my wife does not speak the Dutch language. When I addressed the waitress in Dutch on her rediculous behavior, she replied with various lies. Later we noticed that the machine was used by herself and some housekeeping ladies. How can a hotel accept such behavior of their employees against paying guests??? This incident is for us enough reason never to visit this hotel again. My wife is Asian and I have the strong impression that foreign visitors are being treated badly compared to Dutch ones, the word for this we all know: discrimination

If you cannot speak dutch, I would not advise using this hotel. The restaurant staff was not helpful and could not speak English at all. They have a menu in English that is very small and does not have much variety, so you are very limited in your choices. You are not offered the specials even upon request because they are not able to tell you in English. Of the two weeks I spent here I had one good meal, the rest of the food was very pricey and not tasty at all. Very disappointed in all matters with the staff they were not helpful at all. The only enjoyable part was the dessert at this establishment. The hotel does not have any fans or air anywhere within the establishment. There is not an available gym or work-out area either.
